Ms. Phan Thi Hai Khuyen, a tour guide at the tourist destination “Legendary Truong Son Road - Commander Cave” shared that, although they were not architects, nor did they need any design drawings, the soldiers created a solid reserve of food and weapons in the enemy's heartland, to make it more convenient to support the southern battlefield, ensuring the process of national unification.

“When explaining to tourists about the landscapes and artifacts in the Commander Cave, one of the largest warehouses of the 559 Command in Quang Binh (old), I am always moved and emotional. The historical values that our ancestors left behind are immense. When introducing them to tourists, with all my heart, I always want them to relive the most fierce war of the nation. In which, our soldiers and people did not spare their blood and bones, fought steadfastly and indomitably,” Ms. Khuyen shared.

Ms. Le Thi Hong (a resident of Village 4, Dong Trach Commune, Quang Tri) was moved to say that when she set foot on Route 20 Quyet Thang, she could not help but be moved by the sacred historical vestiges still imprinted in the majestic Truong Son mountains and forests. The old trail that had endured bombs and bullets now appeared green and quiet, like an endless epic about patriotism and the indomitable will of the fathers and brothers.

“When I entered the Command Cave, which used to be the headquarters of the 559th Army Corps, I felt the breath of the past, the harshness and the steely spirit of the Truong Son soldiers. This tour is not only a journey back to history, but also an experience full of pride and gratitude,” Ms. Hong shared.
