Mr. Luong Van Bay - Chairman of the People's Committee of My Ly commune said that heavy rain has been continuing in the commune for many days. By about 5:00 p.m. on July 22, almost all 7 villages along the river in My Ly commune were flooded. According to preliminary statistics, there were about 20 houses, mainly stilt houses, that were flooded up to the roof.

“Currently, it is very difficult for commune officials as well as the “4 on-site” forces to access flooded villages due to heavy rain and strong currents. Some villages are currently inaccessible due to landslides and flooded roads. The most severely flooded villages are Xop Tu and Hoa Ly. In addition, in other villages along the river, people have moved their belongings to higher ground because the water has submerged more than half of their houses, including Xieng Tam, Yen Hoa, Xang Tren, Xop Duong, and Cha Nga.

According to local information, My Ly Border Guard Station was also flooded more than 1 meter and is currently having to move furniture to higher ground.
