On the evening of May 19, at the Gymnasium of Apatite Vietnam One Member Co., Ltd., the opening ceremony of the 2023 Provincial Volleyball Tournament for Middle-aged and Elderly Players took place.
The tournament had 46 teams with 415 athletes from agencies, units and localities in the province.
The tournament will be held in two categories, including men's and women's teams, in age groups of 40-55 years old and 56 years old and above. The teams will be divided into groups, compete in a round robin, and the first and second place teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
The closing ceremony and awards ceremony are expected to take place on Sunday afternoon (May 21).
The 2023 provincial volleyball tournament for middle-aged and elderly people is a meaningful and practical sports activity to celebrate the major holidays of the homeland and the country. In particular, the tournament is held on the occasion of the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023).
The 2023 Provincial Volleyball Tournament for Middle-aged and Seniors is organized to create a useful and attractive playground for volleyball enthusiasts. Through the tournament, it contributes to promoting and expanding the movement of physical training and sports in general, and volleyball in particular, in the province.
