Overcoming the sun and rain on the construction site

The construction unit of Tan Doan - Trang Cac - Dong Giap road is digging and filling some sections of the route.

The Tan Doan - Trang Cac - Dong Giap road project belongs to Component 3 of the Agricultural Value Chain Infrastructure Project, the basic infrastructure project for comprehensive development of the Northeastern provinces - Lang Son Province Sub-project. The project is over 14 km long. The starting point turns right at Km11+300, DT.239; the end point intersects with DH.59C at Km5+500. The designed route length is nearly 12 km and the section utilizing the old road surface is over 2 km; the construction value is over 63 billion VND. The investor representative is the Agricultural Value Chain Infrastructure Project Management Board. The project is divided into 3 bidding packages.

Although the project is not too large, in reality, the implementation has encountered many difficulties in terms of terrain, site, weather, etc. Specifically, the relevant unit handed over the route to the contractors on November 1, 2024, but it was not until February 2025 that the site was available for implementation. Next, the terrain for the project is very complicated with many sections having high slopes, many sections of soil and rocks interspersed, making it difficult to dig and fill. Along with that, another major difficulty is that recently, there has been a lot of rain, leading to slow progress. Specifically, by mid-June 2025, the project's implementation volume had only reached about 20% of the contract.

Mr. Dao Van Anh, a specialist officer of the Agricultural Value Chain Infrastructure Project Management Board, said: To overcome difficulties and speed up the project implementation progress, the unit proactively coordinated with relevant units to urgently resolve land-related issues. Along with that, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and representatives of the investor regularly inspected the site directly.

Through the inspection, relevant units grasp the actual progress of implementation as well as the difficulties and obstacles of the construction unit. From there, they promptly direct and deploy solutions to remove difficulties to speed up the site clearance progress (which has been completed so far); urge the contractor to add human resources and machinery, propose plans to dig and fill soil and rock in difficult locations...

With the close direction of the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies, the construction contractors have also urgently started to implement specific measures. Mr. Hoang Minh Thoai, a technical officer of An Hoa Construction Investment Company Limited, Hanoi City (the contractor for the package from the beginning of the route to Km3 of the Tan Doan - Trang Cac - Dong Giap road project) said: Although the construction unit encountered many difficulties in terms of terrain, large volumes of soil and rocks, and heavy rain, the unit has made efforts to focus on implementing construction items. Up to now, the unit has opened 60% of the foundation. Currently, taking advantage of favorable weather, the unit is mobilizing 39 workers and 27 vehicles and machinery of all kinds to work at the construction site. It is expected that next month, the unit will add a number of bulldozers and 15 workers to implement the construction items in parallel.

In addition to the above contractor, taking advantage of favorable weather, other contractors are currently implementing the project, focusing on human resources, machinery, organizing work day and night to speed up the progress of the projects. Specifically, at the construction site, contractors are mobilizing 50 machines, equipment, and 75 workers to carry out the construction of the project items. It is expected that when the excavation and embankment are basically completed, the units will mobilize double the human resources and add 20 more machines of various types to speed up the progress of the project. In addition to mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery, the units have currently developed plans to organize overtime, flexibly implement construction measures in case of adverse weather, and proactively prepare materials for road construction...

The Tan Doan - Trang Cac - Dong Giap road project is of great significance to the socio -economic development of people in disadvantaged communes. There is not much time left to complete the road, so at this time, relevant levels, sectors and units are focusing their efforts to speed up the progress, thereby striving to bring the project to the finish line as planned.
