The event was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam Nguyen Van Phuc and Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam, with the participation of representatives of universities, research institutes, enterprises of the two countries, and the Confederation of Czech Industry (SPCR).
In his opening speech, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam affirmed that the conference is an important occasion to promote cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries, opening up many new opportunities in training, research and innovation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc highly appreciated the efforts and cooperation results between Vietnamese and Czech universities in recent times, especially the signing of memorandums of understanding and specific agreements.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc emphasized: "Educational cooperation does not stop at academic exchange, but needs to expand to applied research and links with businesses to improve quality and efficiency."

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lukas Martin, Director of the Czech Republic's Department of International Cooperation, emphasized the commitment to creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese students and proposed increasing the scholarship quota, considering this a strategic investment for the future of bilateral cooperation.

Within the framework of the conference, many cooperation documents were signed, especially the proposal to establish the Vietnam - Czech Republic Center for Education and Research Cooperation, laying the foundation for a sustainable and long-term academic foundation. The parties also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of innovation and digital transformation, in order to adapt to the context of globalization.
Earlier in the morning of the same day, at the headquarters of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, a seminar was held to promote strategic cooperation in higher education and scientific research between the two countries. The seminar focused on assessing the current state of cooperation, proposing joint training programs, student-lecturer exchanges and joint research projects.

An important content highlighted was the role of Vietnamese intellectuals in the Czech Republic, who are working in research institutes, universities and technology enterprises as important “bridges” between Vietnam and Europe. Representatives of the Vietnamese Intellectual Network in the Czech Republic also proposed building a Vietnam-Czech scientific cooperation network, aiming to form a mechanism for transferring knowledge and technology with domestic support.
The issue of preserving Vietnamese language and culture in the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic was also discussed. Delegates requested the Ministry of Education and Training to support the development of a Vietnamese language curriculum suitable for the European environment, provide materials and train Vietnamese teachers abroad.
Mr. Tran Trong Dao, President of Ton Duc Thang University, chaired the discussion on the role of Vietnamese higher education institutions in supporting the Vietnamese community in Europe. He affirmed that the schools are ready to coordinate in organizing cultural, educational and scientific activities, as well as developing distance learning models, granting international certificates, and expanding Vietnam's academic presence in the region.
Closing the conference, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Vietnamese universities and the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic officially took place. This is considered a practical step to strengthen educational connections between the country and abroad, while consolidating the role of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic in Vietnam's education and science development strategy.
The event demonstrates the clear commitment and strong determination of both countries in developing a deep, sustainable educational partnership that flexibly adapts to the trend of digital transformation and globalization.
