V.League 2025/26 starts on August 15, 2025 and is expected to end on June 20, 2026. This year's season has the participation of 14 professional clubs: Becamex Ho Chi Minh City (renamed from Becamex Binh Duong Club), Hanoi Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police (renamed from Ho Chi Minh City Club), Dong A Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh (renamed from Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club), PVF CAND, SHB Da Nang, Song Lam Nghe An, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh and The Cong Viettel.
With the round-robin format (home - away) to calculate points and rank, V.League 1 season 2025/26 will have a total of 26 rounds with 182 matches. The total prize value of the three leading teams of V.League 1 season 2025/26 is: 9.5 billion VND , specifically: the champion club receives the cup, gold medal and bonus of 5 billion VND ; the second-place club receives silver medal, bonus of 3 billion VND ; the third-place club receives bronze medal and bonus of 1.5 billion VND .
The new season promises many dramatic derbies. The format also has important changes: increasing the relegation spots to 2, predicting a fierce race in every position on the rankings. Regarding foreign players, teams participating in the AFC continental tournament are allowed to register a maximum of 7 foreign players, while the remaining teams are allowed to register 4 (maximum 3 on the field).
The organization continues to be upgraded, when the organizing committee invests in an additional VAR vehicle, bringing the total to 5, aiming to apply VAR comprehensively and professionally in all matches in the 2025/26 season.
Not only is it a new season, V.League 2025/26 also carries a message about the strong, modern and competitive transformation of Vietnamese football.
