Hanoi City People's Committee submits 16,000 billion VND bridge project

The Hanoi People's Committee has just submitted a document to the Hanoi People's Council approving the investment policy for the Tran Hung Dao Bridge construction project in Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung and Long Bien districts.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, Tran Hung Dao Bridge has a total length of about 5.6 km with a total investment of nearly 16,000 billion VND. The starting point is the Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong intersection (Hoan Kiem district); the end point connects with Vu Duc Than street (Long Bien district).

The approach roads at both ends of the bridge have a cross-section of 30m with a total length of about 2.25km.

Bridge project: The main bridge over the Red River with an arch bridge structure including 6 spans, has a cross-section of about 43m, ensuring 6 lanes of motor vehicles. The approach bridge uses a box girder structure with a span length of about 40m-45m, ensuring 6 lanes of motor vehicles.

The bridge branches in the intersection have cross-sectional widths calculated according to the transport needs of each branch.

It is expected that the Hanoi People's Council will consider and approve the investment policy for the construction of Tran Hung Dao Bridge on February 25.

Tunnel project on the route: Construction of a direct underpass at the intersection with Nguyen Van Linh Street/Hanoi - Hai Phong Railway with a scale of 4 lanes, about 19.5m wide.

Along the entire route, there will be 4 completed intersections, including: Intersection with Tran Khanh Du and Nguyen Khoi streets; intersection with Ta Hong dyke road (Long Bien - Xuan Quan road) and Co Linh road; intersection with Nguyen Son road; intersection with Nguyen Van Linh road/Hanoi - Hai Phong railway.

The project consists of 2 component project groups: the GPMB project group (including 3 component project groups) and the construction investment project group.

In addition, the technical infrastructure system, sidewalks, lighting, traffic organization, trees, renovation and relocation of underground and above-ground technical infrastructure, bridge landscape... must be synchronous and comply with current regulations and standards.

The project is implemented in the period 2025-2027.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the investment in the construction of Tran Hung Dao Bridge will connect the central area of Hanoi with the eastern area, completing the East-West connection of the city, creating conditions and premises for socio-economic development of the area. At the same time, it will reduce traffic pressure on existing bridges over the Red River such as Long Bien, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri. It is expected that the Proposal will be considered and approved by the Hanoi People's Council at a thematic session held on February 25.
