From July 1, personal identification codes will be used instead of tax codes, so tax registration information must match information in the national population database.

The Tax Department of Region I (managing Hanoi and Hoa Binh) recommends that individual taxpayers check and update their tax registration information to synchronize with the national population database to avoid interruption of tax obligations after July 1.

According to the provisions of the Law on Tax Administration and Project 06 of the Prime Minister , from July 1, personal identification numbers will be used instead of tax codes for households, business households and individuals. To ensure rights and avoid risks when performing tax obligations, taxpayers need to proactively check and update personal information on the tax authority system to match data from the National Population Database.

Taxpayers need to compare personal information (full name, date of birth, citizen identification number, etc.) with data in the tax system and the national population database. If there are any discrepancies, they need to be updated promptly.

For eTax Mobile application: Log in and access "Change tax registration information", follow the instructions. You need to fill in complete information such as phone number, email...

In case of receiving the notice "Taxpayer is not in the national population database", individuals need to contact the police agency to update identification information.

For the National Public Service Portal: Access dichvucong.gov.vn, find the procedure "Change tax registration information" and follow the instructions.

Tax Industry Electronic Information Portal: Access thuedientu.gdt.gov.vn, select "Individual", log in to your electronic transaction account and update information according to instructions.

In particular, the electronic method also allows taxpayers to update information for dependents, if any.
