The heroic tradition of previous generations and the selfless sacrifice of nearly 260 martyr journalists are examples and historical lessons for journalists today to constantly compete and strive to produce quality journalistic products that breathe life and spread to the world .”

The above information was shared by VNA Director General Vu Viet Trang at the Vietnam News Agency Patriotic Emulation Congress this afternoon, September 12. According to the VNA Director General, this is an opportunity for the whole industry to summarize and evaluate the results of the patriotic emulation movement over the past 5 years (2020-2025 period); at the same time, commend and reward advanced and exemplary models who always take the lead, always for the benefit of the unit and collective.

265 delegates representing nearly 1,900 officials and workers in the entire industry attended the Congress.

VNA receives Ho Chi Minh Medal for the third time

Speaking at the Congress, General Director Vu Viet Trang affirmed that in 80 years of construction and development, VNA has always attached importance to and carried out well the emulation and reward work in the whole industry; placing emulation and reward as the key task in political tasks. Thereby, promptly praising and rewarding typical examples in emulation movements; individuals with outstanding achievements in the fields of work.

Every year, closely following the political tasks of the industry in accordance with each development stage, the General Director of VNA has launched emulation movements, focusing on the goals of: "Promoting the strength of the entire industry, solidarity, creativity, and performing well the functions of a national news agency," "Further innovation, more determination, more efficiency, and further development," "Solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and emulation to build a strong VNA"...

In addition to the emulation movements that have been implemented throughout, VNA has also done a good job of commending and rewarding on an ad hoc basis. During storms, floods, natural disasters, epidemics or important national events, many advanced models have emerged, ready to rush to the source of news or pursue events to have vivid news and images, reflecting the events truthfully.

In addition to reporters who directly report news, VNA also pays attention to and honors silent examples: those are the service staff of the Office, the personnel in the functional department or the engineers who keep the news flow smooth. All contribute to the overall success of the whole Industry.

“Up to now, we can be proud that VNA has been affirming its pioneering and leading role in the field of information and propaganda, accompanying the country in its construction and development, and reflecting the whole world, demonstrating the presence of reporters across the country and across 5 continents,” General Director Vu Viet Trang emphasized.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of VNA's establishment and development, VNA is honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal for the third time for its achievements "having a long tradition, making great contributions, and being especially outstanding in the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation." This is a recognition of the tireless efforts and dedication of VNA journalists through the ages. The ceremony to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal will take place on September 14.

On this occasion, Vietnamplus Electronic Newspaper and the World Department received the Government's Emulation Flag; 27 groups and 39 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the General Director of VNA; 114 officials and employees of VNA units received the Medal for the Cause of News Agency.

Striving for innovation and creativity in the era of growth

According to Chairman of the VNA Emulation and Reward Council Vu Viet Trang, the 2025-2030 period is the period when the country enters a new era with many strategic tasks, projects, and tasks that need to be completed; all levels and sectors are striving to compete to achieve many achievements to successfully implement the goals and targets set by the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the socio-economic development plan for the next 5 years (2026-2030).

Promoting the glorious tradition of VNA, which was honored by the Party and State with three Heroic titles (Labor Hero in the Renovation Period and Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the Resistance War against the US for National Salvation, awarded the Gold Star Medal, and three times awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal), on behalf of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Emulation and Reward Council of VNA, General Director Vu Viet Trang called on all officials and employees to promote the spirit of patriotic emulation, solidarity, shared responsibility, and enthusiastically compete with the content "Promoting the strength of the entire industry, VNA strives to innovate and be creative to bring VNA to develop strongly in the era of prosperity and strength of the country."
