Ericsson reported on September 12 that its new office in Hanoi is equipped with EVCN (Enterprise Virtual Cellular Network) for the first time, allowing businesses to manage and control 5G connections for mobile devices, especially 5G-enabled laptops or IT applications in the office, via 5G network instead of Wi-Fi.

With this event, Ericsson continues to strengthen its presence after 32 years in Vietnam and affirms its commitment to supporting Vietnam's digitalization goals.

Ericsson leaders said that Vietnam has set an ambitious goal: the digital economy will contribute up to 30% of GDP by 2030, in which 5G is identified as a key national infrastructure. Therefore, Ericsson wants to strengthen cooperation with the Government, network operators, businesses and educational and training institutions to promote digital transformation in priority areas such as manufacturing, healthcare and smart cities.

“Over the years, together with our partners, we have contributed to laying the foundation for the 2G network, gradually developing it to 3G and 4G. Today, we are proud to accompany Viettel, VNPT and MobiFone in realizing the 5G network nationwide,” said Ms. Rita Mokbel - President of Ericsson Vietnam.

The new office in Hanoi is also a testament to Ericsson’s commitment to contributing to the development of the innovation ecosystem in Vietnam. Through initiatives such as the Ericsson Educate program in collaboration with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), the AI Lab in collaboration with RMIT, and the Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Transport, Ericsson affirms that it will continue to invest in human resource development, research and co-creation with domestic training institutions./.
