The number of highest industry wishes is 44 times higher than the quota.
This afternoon (August 14), information from Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture said that this year the school has a total of over 22,500 candidates applying for admission to university programs.
Of which, there are over 3,300 first-choice candidates, over 3,500 second-choice candidates and over 3,000 third-choice candidates.
The majors with the highest number of registered wishes include: cultural management specializing in organizing cultural, sports and tourism events; cultural studies specializing in cultural communication; tourism and travel service management specializing in travel management; tourism...
In contrast, the fields that recorded a moderate number of requests included heritage studies, publishing business, etc.
Notably, the major of organizing cultural, sports and tourism events (under the cultural management sector) leads in attracting candidates, with the ratio of wishes to the number of recruitment targets at over 44 times. The number of wishes for the first category alone is over 9 times higher than the recruitment target for this major.
Most of the first-choice majors are equal to or higher than the quota (except for the major of heritage and tourism development under the new cultural management major enrolling in 2025).
The number of admission applications decreased slightly compared to last year.
Compared to the data of candidates registered in 2024, the representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture said that this year the total number of applications for admission to the school has decreased slightly. Meanwhile, the enrollment target for 2025 is 1,000 candidates (equivalent to 2024). This year, the school also maintains a stable enrollment method based on high school graduation exam scores, high school academic results, and art aptitude test scores organized by the school.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture announced the minimum admission score for all majors at 15. In particular, the method of considering the 2025 high school graduation exam scores is calculated according to the admission combination and the method of considering high school study results is the score of 6 high school semesters according to the admission combination.
In 2024, the benchmark score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture based on transcripts ranges from 24.8 to 27.5 points. In the high school graduation exam score review method, the benchmark score for many majors is from 27 and up according to a combination of 3 subjects, such as: cultural communication major with the highest benchmark score is 27.85 points; tourism 27.25 points; tourism management and travel services specializing in travel management takes 27 points... Candidates need to achieve an average of 9 points/subject to be admitted to these majors.
Many other majors of the school also have high benchmark scores such as: tourism 26.75; tourism management and travel services specializing in tour guiding with benchmark score 26.5; cultural management specializing in organizing cultural and sports events, cultural industry major 26.3...
Compared to 2023, the benchmark scores of many majors in 2024 increased "shockingly" such as: library information increased by 8 points; museum studies increased by 8.5 points.
Thus, with unchanged enrollment targets, stable enrollment methods while the number of enrollment requests has slightly decreased, the benchmark scores for this year's majors may not fluctuate much compared to last year.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture will enroll about 1,000 students for the full-time university program, with 14 majors in the fields of culture, art, information and tourism. The school's tuition fees are built according to the framework of Decree 81 and Decree 97 of the Government applicable to public universities. Accordingly, the school's average tuition fee is 16.9 million VND/year (equivalent to 516,000 VND/credit).
