TPO - With a professional and grand scale, the Organizing Committee invited a team of 100% certified professional referees, including 1 national referee, to participate in the "Fan for Children - Nurturing Knowledge" Pickleball Tournament.

On July 3, the Organizing Committee of the Pickleball Tournament “Fanning for Children - Nurturing Knowledge” held a drawing and division ceremony. It is known that the tournament will take place on July 5 and 6 at the Picklezone Vinh Heritage (Vinh Heritage urban area, Nghe An ).

The tournament had the participation of 155 pairs of athletes in 4 competitions.

The Organizing Committee said that after many days of registration, there were more than 300 registrations and officially 155 pairs competed. Of which, 72 pairs competed at level 4.2; 36 pairs at level 4.4 and 25 pairs at level 4.8. In addition, there were 22 pairs competing in the mixed doubles category.

Ms. Pham Thi Le Thuy (officer of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Management, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province) - the person in charge of the referee team and the series of matches said that although the tournament is not large-scale, it has great significance. Besides, the tournament is organized by the coordination of state units, so it is methodical, grand and professional in scale.

Ms. Pham Thi Le Thuy said that the special thing about this tournament is the referee team controlling the matches. create, there will be 14 referees participating in controlling the series of matches. Each match will have 2 referees. In the semi-finals and finals, the number of referees will be increased to ensure the scale and importance of the match.

“100% of the referees participating in this tournament have been granted Pickleball Referee Certificates by the Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province. Among them, there is one national referee who participated in the 2024 National Pickleball Championship. The remaining referees are all experienced, reputable and have participated in many different large and small tournaments in the region,” said Ms. Pham Thi Le Thuy, adding that the selection of referees was very strict and demanding, so the athletes can compete with peace of mind. The referee team is committed to conducting the tournament objectively and impartially.

The tournament is held at Picklezone Vinh Heritage (Vinh Heritage urban area, Nghe An).

The representative of the Organizing Committee also said that, in addition to the previously announced prizes with a total prize value of up to 100,000,000 VND, all athletes participating in the tournament will receive many meaningful and unique gifts such as: hand fans, Pickleball racket keychains. During the competition, athletes and spectators will be provided with snacks and drinks.

The Pickleball Tournament “Fanning for Children - Nurturing Knowledge” was organized by the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union in collaboration with Tien Phong Newspaper, Nghe An Department of Education and Training and Nghe An Young Entrepreneurs Association. The tournament aims to create a healthy playground, enhance exchange, learning and encourage the Pickleball practice movement in Nghe An province; contributing to continuing the movement “All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho”.

Through the tournament, the Organizing Committee launched the charity program "Cool fans for children - Nurturing knowledge" to call for the community's cooperation to support the purchase and installation of ceiling fans for schools in disadvantaged areas, contributing to improving learning and living conditions for students during the hot season.
