VHO - On May 16, Gia Lai Provincial Museum opened the exhibition "Revolutionary Path - Comrade Ho Chi Minh in China" and the exhibition "Han - Nom Heritage in Gia Lai Province".
This is an activity to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); the 114th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2025); and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year; contributing to preserving and promoting the value of Han - Nom heritage in the province.
The exhibition “Revolutionary Path - Comrade Ho Chi Minh in China” displays more than 250 valuable documents, images and quotes divided into 4 parts: Building a revolutionary organization from scratch; Hundred favors - Sharing the same hatred, uniting against foreign invaders; Thousand favors - Helping each other and close relationships; Spirit of friendship, eternal glory.
This exhibition aims to introduce President Ho Chi Minh's journey in China. Including revolutionary activities with his dedication and sacrifice for the cause of national liberation revolution and his great contributions to fostering friendship between Vietnam and China.
The exhibition “Han-Nom Heritage in Gia Lai Province” introduces to the public 435 artifacts, images, and documents of all kinds. Including all the royal decrees of gods kept in village communal houses; royal decrees - royal decrees for meritorious people, most of the ancient land registers kept in private homes and hundreds of horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, and steles in pagodas, shrines, private homes, and tombs in the province.
The exhibition layout will be divided into 4 parts, including: Gia Lai Han - Nom Heritage in communal house and temple space; Gia Lai Han - Nom Heritage in pagoda space; Gia Lai Han - Nom Heritage in private home space and Gia Lai Han - Nom Heritage in cemetery space.
The exhibition is an important content of the provincial-level topic "Preserving and promoting the value of Han - Nom heritage in Gia Lai province" proposed by the Provincial Museum and assigned by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee as the host agency.
For the first time, the Han Nom script heritage has been systematically surveyed, collected, and introduced in a large scale in all 17 districts, towns, and cities in the province; gathering many experts and members inside and outside the province to participate in the implementation.
This is also the first Han-Nom documentary heritage exhibition held at the Provincial Museum as well as within Gia Lai province.
Through the exhibition, people inside and outside the locality will have a more complete understanding of the history and culture of Gia Lai through the Han Nom documentary heritage, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the value of the nation's cultural heritage.
The exhibition will last until October 2025 at Gia Lai Provincial Museum. During this time, part of the exhibition will be held on tour in An Khe town and Ayun Pa town to serve local people who do not have the conditions to visit Pleiku city.
