Launched from May 24 to June 30, the writing contest “Imprints of Youth in Me” is an opportunity for readers, those who love and are attached to Tuoi Tre to tell stories and unforgettable memories of the journey over the past 50 years.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Le Xuan Trung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, said that after just over a month of organization, the contest received nearly 700 articles from readers across the country and from abroad.

“The contest is called “Youth in Me”, which means Youth in the hearts of readers but also readers in Tuoi Tre. Although it has only been running for over a month, it has received the attention of so many readers, we are very happy and touched”, Mr. Le Xuan Trung expressed.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded first prize to author Dang Hoang An with the article Tuoi Tre lifted me up, so I could continue walking ; second prize to author Nguyen Manh Huy with the article Tuoi Tre changed my life ; third prize to author Lam Minh Trang with the article Tuoi Tre helps society become more upright and better . In addition, the contest also awarded 10 consolation prizes and 10 reader-voted prizes.

Sharing after the award ceremony, author Dang Hoang An emotionally recounted that in 2016, an unexpected incident occurred that made him disabled, no longer able to stand on the podium as a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, having to rely on the hands and shoulders of many people. At that time, because of his inferiority complex, An only talked to his parents and did not contact anyone in society, only connecting with the outside world through newspapers.

One time, Mr. An read the article "A Thousand Days to Save My Child" published on Tuoi Tre Online, about the story of Mrs. Pham Thi Cuc who persistently accompanied her son through adversity, and articles about people with difficult fates who did not give up but chose to stand up and contribute in their own way. The story inspired him to live.

“Tuoi Tre has helped me awaken the part of me that I thought had died. It doesn’t appeal to temporary emotions, but penetrates deep into my heart. It’s just lines of words that penetrate slowly, but are deep enough to linger,” author Dang Hoang An shared.

On this occasion, Tuoi Tre Newspaper also introduces to readers the publication (not for sale) Imprints of Youth in Me , a selection of entries selected for publication in Tuoi Tre publications, especially articles by readers and experts who have contributed to Tuoi Tre over the past half century. The publication is made in the spirit of "for readers - by readers - with readers", becoming a mark on the 50th anniversary of Tuoi Tre.
