Up to now, Lai Chau Newspaper has made great strides in effectively operating two types of newspapers in parallel: print and electronic newspapers. Along with that is a clear change in the thinking of journalism - from "updating events" to "leading information", from "one-way transmission" to "two-way interaction". In particular, the team of reporters and editors of Lai Chau Electronic Newspaper not only simply report news but also know how to exploit critical perspectives, detect problems from the grassroots, apply technology to propagate in many forms: clips, E-magazine, infographics, multimedia articles... That helps the information conveyed become more vivid, attractive, and more accessible to readers, especially young people.

Journalist Phuong Lan - Head of the Electronic Department said: On the first day of work, we encountered many difficulties. Because all reporters wrote news and articles in the traditional way, when switching to multimedia journalism, we encountered many obstacles, lack of equipment, access to information technology required journalists to have capacity and qualifications. But that did not mean that we gave up, from department leaders to reporters and editors, we worked and learned from other newspapers, exchanged professional skills and expertise to create quality works while ensuring good content, beautifully presented to attract many interested readers and share. At the same time, the Editorial Board also created conditions, regularly sent reporters to attend training courses on digital transformation, graphic design, and television skills to improve their professional qualifications, meeting the increasingly high demands of readers... Those persistent efforts have begun to bear fruit, bringing "sweet fruits" in the journey of journalism in the 4.0 era.

The Editorial Board and Lai Chau Electronic Newspaper Department leaders carry out monthly professional tasks.

The team of reporters is considered the "soul" in innovation to meet the trend of the 4.0 period. Each reporter always strives to self-study and research to create quality works, design beautiful pictures, attract readers' attention and follow. Notably, reporter Ta Ngoc Duy (pen name Ngoc Duy) is a "core" reporter in innovating modern journalism thinking. In addition to the machines equipped by the agency, he also proactively invested in many devices to serve his own work tasks. Reporter Ngoc Duy shared: I was transferred by the agency to the Lai Chau Electronic Newspaper Department since 2019. Mainly working on internet television columns, designing multimedia articles... In the early days of practicing filming, editing videos , designing E-magazine articles... I was very discouraged, there were times when I thought I had to give up. However, with the timely encouragement of the Editorial Board and the Department's leaders, I explored and connected with the local party newspaper technical team to learn from experience, both self-study and research. After nearly half a year, I was able to design good and attractive works. In particular, I spent a portion of my total income to invest in many devices such as: interview microphones, cameras, plycams, tripods, etc. and bought additional photo and video design software. Up to now, I have been proficient in filming, editing, and designing e-magazine articles.

Or reporter Dinh Thi Dong (pen name Dinh Dong) is one of the reporters who actively sticks to the grassroots, propagating in a variety of fields, contributing to bringing the Party's guidelines and the State's laws to the people. Reporter Dinh Dong confided: To keep up with the trend of modern journalism in the 4.0 era, I have actively learned from my colleagues' experiences; improved my knowledge on the internet; actively participated in training courses on electronic journalism skills, using photoshop software... equipping myself with tools and equipment to serve the process of working and creating works. Most importantly, I must always be creative and innovative, applying information technology in the process of creating works. Always be ready to challenge myself in many different environments and roles.

One of the clear breakthroughs is the innovation of the electronic newspaper interface. Since the beginning of 2025, Lai Chau Newspaper has upgraded to phase 3 in a modern direction, helping readers easily look up and share information content, increasing interaction and experience. The number of visits to the electronic newspaper has increased significantly every month, the number of readers is increasing. Interaction via the editorial office's social networks has also been expanded, creating conditions for Lai Chau Newspaper to spread information quickly, accurately and promptly to all readers, especially in remote areas.

In the 4.0 era, reporters always change themselves to adapt to trends. In the photo: Reporter Ngoc Duy working at the base.

Comrade Du Khanh Kien - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper affirmed: One of the most important issues to be concerned about now is that when the country is facing the opportunity to transform, firmly entering the new era, it requires the press to also innovate, accompanying the general development of the country, especially when entering the digital era, the press will have to adapt quickly, promptly innovate, be flexible, and be creative to meet the increasing needs of the public. Therefore, the development of digital platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, fanpage, Zalo of Lai Chau Newspaper in the past time is a very correct and timely step, in line with the national digital transformation trend. This is not only an innovation in the form of propaganda but also a change in journalistic thinking in the digital age.

These digital platforms have been playing a very clear role in quickly and effectively spreading the province's official information to the people, especially those in remote areas - places where printed newspapers are difficult to access and television is not always convenient to watch. On average, each month, Lai Chau e-newspaper publishes over 2,000 news, articles, photos, and videos on Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok pages. Many videos and clips attract nearly 20,000 views and likes; hundreds of shares... In particular, the Multimedia section of Lai Chau Newspaper is developing strongly, becoming one of the highlights attracting readers. Many articles are read by a large number of readers, with some reaching over 160,000 views - Notably, the article "Preserving the Vietnamese soul" by author Xuan Thu.

The “sweet fruits” that Lai Chau Newspaper in general and the Electronic Department in particular have received are proof of the “power” of digital journalism - both spreading information and orienting public opinion, strengthening trust in the Party, the government and the development of the province.
