Kazakhstan Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov saw off General Secretary To Lam and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport. Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Nhu Mai, along with a large number of officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Kazakhstan, also went to the airport to see off the delegation.

During the visit, General Secretary To Lam held talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; met with Chairman of the Senate Ashimbayev; Chairman of the House of Representatives of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Amanat Party (ruling) Yerlan Koshanov; Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov; witnessed the ceremony of handing over cooperation documents and adopting the Joint Statement on establishing the Vietnam - Kazakhstan Strategic Partnership; attended the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day over fascism; attended the Vietnam - Kazakhstan Business Roundtable, received a number of corporations and businesses; visited the Astana Financial Center; visited and delivered a policy speech at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan.

During the State visit of General Secretary To Lam, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev respectfully presented General Secretary To Lam with the Dostyk Friendship Medal, First Class - a noble award of the State and people of Kazakhstan. General Secretary To Lam expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan gave to the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation during the State visit.
During the meetings, the two countries' senior leaders agreed to highly appreciate the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan that has been continuously expanded and strengthened over the years; and discussed in depth measures to promote bilateral relations in the coming time, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The two countries' senior leaders reaffirmed that Vietnam and Kazakhstan are very important partners in Southeast Asia and Central Asia. The two sides agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in many fields; attach importance to promoting and further developing bilateral relations in the coming time. The two countries' senior leaders agreed that the development and deepening of Vietnam - Kazakhstan relations is in line with the common interests of the people of the two countries, contributing to ensuring peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
During the visit, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-Kazakhstan Strategic Partnership. The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen political and diplomatic cooperation; expand cooperation in the fields of defense, security and justice; expand economic, trade, investment and financial cooperation; promote substantive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, science, technology, digital transformation, transportation, energy, culture, sports, tourism, education, labor and environment; strengthen cooperation between localities and people-to-people exchanges; and strengthen regional and international cooperation.
The State visit of General Secretary To Lam to the Republic of Kazakhstan plays an important role in consolidating the traditional friendship and shaping a new cooperation framework between the two countries, opening up prospects for effective and substantive cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability and development in the region.
