Organizing sports festival to welcome the Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central organizations

The Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) has just issued a plan to organize a sports festival to welcome the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Unions for the 2025-2030 term. This is a meaningful political and social activity, aiming to strengthen solidarity and create a competitive atmosphere among cadres, party members, and workers.

As planned, the sports festival is not only associated with the event of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Organizations, but also practically celebrates the 14th National Congress of the Party; 80 years of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The objective of the sports festival is to create a healthy and useful playground, encourage physical training among cadres and party members, and contribute to the successful completion of professional tasks. At the same time, the activity is also associated with the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", spreading the movement of physical training and sports in the trade union system and organizations.

Participants include cadres, party members, and workers in party organizations under the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. In addition, the Organizing Committee also invited party committees and branches under the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central mass organizations to participate, contributing to creating a competitive atmosphere to welcome important political events. The sports festival is expected to take place at the end of September 2025 in Hanoi.

To ensure fairness, athletes who have competed in national championships, youth tournaments or are receiving professional training and competition allowances in sports events (before the tournament date) will not be allowed to register.

Union members and workers will participate in 3 competitions (Pickleball; table tennis, tug of war) with 13 competition events for all ages. The award structure includes 13 First prizes (Gold medals, honorary titles and cash prizes), 13 Second prizes (Silver medals, honorary titles and cash prizes), 26 Third prizes (Bronze medals, honorary titles and cash prizes) and 5 special prizes, each prize includes honorary titles and cash prizes.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requires the sports festival to be organized in an exciting, safe, economical and widely disseminated manner; at the same time, ensuring transparency, fairness and democracy in management. Party committees and affiliated branches need to mobilize a large number of cadres, party members and the masses to participate, demonstrating the sports spirit of "equality - solidarity - honesty - nobility".

With its scale and significance, this sports festival is expected to be not only a health training activity, but also an opportunity to foster solidarity and affirm the pioneering role of trade unions in emulation movements to celebrate important events of the country.
