U23 Indonesia midfielder: 'We must win at all costs'

Midfielder Frengky Missa declared that U23 Indonesia will fight with all their might to defeat U23 Vietnam to win the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

The 2025 Southeast Asian U23 final between Indonesia and Vietnam will take place at 8:00 p.m. on July 29.

Before the "big battle", midfielder Frengky Missa declared that he would defeat U23 Vietnam to win the championship. At the same time, he considered this a special gift for the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's National Day (August 17, 1945 - August 17, 2025).

After a thrilling victory over U23 Thailand on penalties with a score of 7-6 (1-1 draw in regular time) in the semi-finals, the spirit of the "island country" team is very high.

Missa shared that the joy after the victory over Thailand was indescribable.

However, the player currently playing for Bhayangkara FC also emphasized that the whole team needs to quickly forget that victory to focus on the final match.

Commenting on the opponent U23 Vietnam in the final match, he expressed optimism about the possibility of winning. He and his teammates are ready to devote themselves to bring home a meaningful gift for the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's National Day.

"We will definitely play with a high level of determination, trying harder than the previous matches to win the championship. We must win the title at all costs. Because we want to give a meaningful gift to the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, especially when we play at home," he affirmed.

Although the tournament was first held in 2005, Indonesia only started participating in 2019. They have shown incredible consistency by always reaching the final. This is the 4th time they have participated in the final match of the most prestigious tournament in Southeast Asia for the U23 age group.
