Thuy Linh makes it to the quarterfinals of the Vietnam Open 2025 Badminton Tournament

VHO - Despite facing many difficulties in round 2 of the Vietnam Open 2025, Vietnam's number 1 female tennis player - Nguyen Thuy Linh knew how to overcome them to make her name in the quarterfinals.

On the afternoon of September 11 at Nguyen Du Stadium (HCMC), Thuy Linh (number 1 seed, world rank 18) entered the second round of women's singles against Malaysian player Kisona Selvaduray (world rank 77).

Thuy Linh came back strongly in set 2, including a series of 6 points in the middle of the set to lead 17-10 before winning 21-12.

In set 3, Vietnam's number 1 player dominated her opponent. She had a series of 8 points at the beginning of the set to lead 11-4, then led 16-8 before winning 21-10.

Defeating Kisona Selvaduray 2-1 (14-21, 21-12, 21-10), Thuy Linh entered the quarterfinals.

In the round of 8 strongest players, Thuy Linh will meet her Thai opponent - Nithittikrai (ranked 80th in the world).

Also winning after 3 sets was tennis player Nguyen Hai Dang (ranked 63rd in the world) in the men's singles event.

In the second round of the men's singles, the 7th seed let Manjunath (India, ranked 111th in the world) win 21-17 in the first set but then won 21-17 and 21-18 to enter the quarterfinals.

Here, Hai Dang will meet Chinese tennis player Wang Zi Jun (ranked 159th in the world).
