VHO - On September 15 in Hanoi, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh chaired a meeting to inform the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam about the first World Culture Day in Hanoi.

Speaking at the information session to the Diplomatic Corps about the event, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh emphasized that this is an important event to honor cultural values, promote international exchange and cooperation, and promote the image and culture of Hanoi as well as Vietnam and other countries to friends around the world.

Therefore, the Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the event would receive the attention, support and active participation of embassies, cultural centers and international organizations in Vietnam, considering this an important factor contributing to the success of the event.

According to the Deputy Minister, Hanoi is currently home to many diplomatic agencies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers.

Not only a workplace, Hanoi has become a close and connected city with international agencies and friends. Therefore, the presence and participation of units at the event will be a vivid demonstration of love and attachment to Hanoi - the city for peace , friendship and cooperation.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh also emphasized that Hanoi has joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and is a City for Peace.

The participation of embassies, cultural centers and international organizations in the event not only contributes to enriching the picture of cultural diversity, but also demonstrates the spirit of accompanying Vietnam in promoting the role of culture in sustainable development, building a prosperous and connected future.

Accordingly, World Culture Day in Hanoi is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee. The event will take place from October 4-5 at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.

The event aims to nurture creativity, promote the rich development of cultural diversity, and continue to affirm Hanoi's position as a UNESCO-recognized Creative City and City for Peace.

Representatives of all parties showed special interest in the event.

Activities within the event include performing arts, cuisine, cinema, fine arts, costumes and books from many countries around the world.

Every year, the Organizing Committee will select and invite 1 country as Guest of honor or Country in focus.

The event is held at a location with open space, ensuring requirements on scale, area, facilities, meeting quality requirements on landscape, form, security, safety (initially it can be at Thang Long Imperial Citadel; later if the scale increases, Thong Nhat Park, National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, etc. can be chosen).

The activities not only introduce the land and people of Hanoi with a thousand years of civilization; the image of an open, friendly, culturally diverse and respectful Vietnam, but also introduce the unique cultures of countries around the world to the people of the capital in particular and the whole country in general.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Nguyen Phuong Hoa informed the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam about national spaces, art performances, culinary festivals, film screenings, fine arts activities, traditional costumes, book festivals, and promotional clips.

Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps also asked many questions to the Organizing Committee about related content, showing special interest in the event.
