(CT) - Compared to about a month ago, the price of many types of fruit has decreased by 5,000-25,000 VND/kg and is at its lowest level in many months. At many markets and fruit stores in Can Tho City, the retail price of lychee, Thai rambutan, longan rambutan and yellow longan is only 20,000-30,000 VND/kg, while previously it was 30,000-50,000 VND/kg or more. The price of mangosteen was 50,000-70,000 VND/kg, now it is only 30,000-45,000 VND/kg. Cat Chu and Cat Hoa Loc mangoes are retailed in many places at 20,000-40,000 VND/kg; The prices of avocado, plum, northern plum, dragon fruit, tangerine and green-skin grapefruit are at 15,000-35,000 VND/kg... The prices of many types of fruit have decreased due to a sharp increase in supply as the harvest season begins.

Rice prices rise again
(CT) - After a period of falling to a low level, the prices of many types of rice in the Mekong Delta have increased again by at least 100-300 VND/kg compared to nearly a month ago. Fresh rice IR 50404 and OM 380 are being sold by farmers in many localities to traders and businesses at 5,300-5,800 VND/kg, while previously it was at 5,200-5,600 VND/kg. Fresh rice OM 5451 is being sold by farmers in many places at 5,800-6,000 VND/kg, fresh rice OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 are priced at 6,100-6,400 VND/kg... Rice prices have increased due to reduced supply because the summer-autumn rice crop in many places has been completely harvested and farmers have sold all their post-harvest rice. However, prices of most types of rice are still about 1,200-1,300 VND/kg lower than the same period in 2024.

Pig prices continue to fall
(CT) - Compared to a month ago, the current price of live pigs in many localities in the Mekong Delta has decreased by 1,000-3,000 VND/kg, to 70,000-71,000 VND/kg. This price is about 10,000-11,000 VND/kg lower than when the price of live pigs reached its highest level in the first months of the year, up to 80,000-82,000 VND/kg. The price has decreased due to increased supply due to the large number of pigs ready for sale, as well as the fact that many businesses and people have increased pig farming in recent times. In addition, recently, pork consumption in many places has slowed down due to people switching to other cheaper types of fish and meat, which has also caused the price of live pigs and pork to decrease. However, the current price of live pigs is still about 4,000-5,000 VND/kg higher than the same period last year.
