Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to discuss documents submitted to the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress.

On the morning of September 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held its 4th (expanded) conference. In addition to all members of the City Party Executive Committee, the conference also invited all secretaries and chairmen of 168 communes, wards, and special zones in the area to attend.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - assessed that the socio -economic growth results in the first 9 months of the year had many bright spots, with GRDP growth of more than 7.8% and budget revenue reaching nearly 85% of the estimate.

Notably, Ho Chi Minh City has focused on removing 266/838 backlog projects. Although the number is only more than 1/3, it shows that Ho Chi Minh City is aware and actively handling the backlog.

In addition, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that the new apparatus has initially been put into operation and has many positive signals despite the large number of establishments, some cadres not being familiar with the new way of working, and many changes in personnel at all levels.

Mr. Quang said that the upcoming task is very important, which is to prepare for the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress and move towards the National Congress, along with concretizing the four key resolutions of the Politburo . The important task is to contribute opinions to the congress documents.

He suggested that delegates discuss substantively, without exaggeration, to agree on what needs to be done for the next 5 years. In addition, he proposed what needs to be done in the last 3 months of the year to achieve growth of over 8%. Continue to remove difficulties, create an environment for investors and businesses to develop, and find ways to better connect localities after the merger.

The conference discussed and gave opinions on the draft report on the socio-economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City in the first 9 months of 2025; tasks and solutions for the last 3 months of 2025.

In particular, at the conference, delegates also discussed and gave opinions on draft documents submitted to the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The drafts of these documents have been received and edited after the Politburo , central ministries, branches, conferences and congresses gave their opinions.

At the same time, the conference also gave opinions on reports and proposed important contents under the authority of the City Party Executive Committee related to the organization of the 1st City Party Congress.
