Rare pangolin gives birth at animal rescue center

On the morning of May 24, Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Rescue Center announced that a rare pangolin had just successfully given birth to a baby pangolin in captivity.

This mother pangolin was discovered and rescued by the Tien Phuoc District Forest Protection Department ( Quang Nam ) on December 13, 2023, then transferred to the animal rescue center to ensure the care and recovery process. After a period of care, the pangolin gave birth on May 13.

Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Rescue Center said that the rare pangolin giving birth opens up hope for the ability to maintain and develop the pangolin population in captivity at the center.

After birth, the rare pangolin is still being kept in captivity at the animal rescue center.

The rescue and reproduction of rare pangolins is not only a great success in animal conservation but also has important significance in raising public awareness about protecting this animal species.
