According to statistics from the Provincial Federation of Labor, from 2024 to present, the whole province has newly established nearly 20 grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises with 25 or more employees, and at the same time established 3 grassroots trade unions, recruiting over 4,000 new union members. In 2025, the target of the Provincial Federation of Labor is to establish grassroots trade unions in 3 enterprises with 25 or more employees. In just the first 7 months of 2025, the whole province has established 7 grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises with 25 or more employees, recruiting over 400 new union members, far exceeding the set target.
The Trade Union of Chi Ma HTT General Import-Export Service Joint Stock Company in Mau Son Commune is one of the seven new trade unions established on July 16 with 65 members. Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, a worker at Chi Ma HTT General Import-Export Service Joint Stock Company, said: Before the trade union existed, all activities to care for workers or to launch emulation movements were carried out but without order, direction, or working environment. Since the establishment of the trade union, all activities have become more effective, and the regimes and rights of workers have been guaranteed. In particular, the trade union has represented workers in signing collective labor agreements with more favorable terms such as: wages, bonuses, working hours and other welfare regimes.
Similar to Chi Ma HTT General Import-Export Service Joint Stock Company, the establishment of the Trade Union at Lang Son Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company in March 2025 has brought about positive impacts. Ms. Ha Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Trade Union at Lang Son Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company shared: Previously, many workers were still hesitant and did not clearly understand the role of this organization. However, after the Trade Union was established, with the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of more than 30 union members and especially the implementation of practical welfare programs and activities during the recent Workers' Month, workers have felt more clearly about the value of the trade union and are more secure in their work. Although the initial establishment was still confusing, thanks to the attention and intensive training sessions from the superior union on skills such as analysis, synthesis, movement organization, consulting and communication, the grassroots union has operated more effectively.
To achieve the above positive results, the Provincial Federation of Labor has made efforts to implement many important solutions. Mr. Luong Chi Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Head of the Trade Union Work Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province said: The work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, especially grassroots unions in non-state enterprises is a key task that the Provincial Federation of Labor pays special attention to. To effectively carry out this task, the Provincial Federation of Labor regularly innovates and implements many solutions focusing on workers in non-state enterprises.
Accordingly, from 2024 to present, the Provincial Federation of Labor has developed a plan to assign annual targets for establishing grassroots unions to affiliated units; organized a workshop on "Solutions to implement the work of developing union members, establishing and improving the quality of grassroots union activities in the enterprise sector"; organized 2 delegations of specialized union officials to study and exchange experiences on the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises at the Federations of Labor of the provinces: Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang , Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh...
From July 2025, after operating under the new organizational model, the Provincial Federation of Labor continues to have new solutions to enhance the effectiveness of union member development work. In addition to reviewing and grasping the labor situation in non-state enterprises, the Federation of Labor develops specific plans associated with union member development targets for each year and each locality. Typically, in some mountainous areas where there are very few enterprises operating, union officials of the units have closely followed the locality with the policy of proactively approaching and supporting established enterprises as soon as possible, while at the same time mobilizing business owners and workers to participate in the union organization.
It can be affirmed that, with proactively approaching enterprises, building cooperative and trustworthy relationships, and flexibly applying many methods, the development of grassroots trade union organizations has achieved remarkable results. This is an important foundation contributing to building increasingly strong trade union organizations, building a stable, cohesive and sustainable labor force in the province in the new period.
