On August 23, information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province said that the special national relic site of Hien Luong - Ben Hai will temporarily close to visitors to serve the construction of the Thong Nhat Park project.

Specifically, during the handover of the site and implementation of all items of the Thong Nhat Park project from August 2025 to December 31, 2025, the work of welcoming, explaining and guiding visitors at the special national monument of Hien Luong - Ben Hai will not meet service requirements.
On the other hand, to ensure the safety of visitors and facilitate the Quang Tri Provincial Construction Investment Management Board to implement construction and ensure the project is completed on schedule, the Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national monument will temporarily close to visitors from August 23 until further notice.

"During the temporary closure of the reception of visitors, the relic management board still operates normally to do a good job of protecting and cleaning the environment. In the coming time, there will be a Hien Luong with guaranteed facilities, serving tourists from all over the world well," said Ms. Le Thi To Hoai, Head of the Management Board of the Hien Luong - Ben Hai Special National Relic Site.
Previously, in December 2024, the People's Committee of the former Quang Tri province approved the Thong Nhat Park project at the special national relic site of Hien Luong - Ben Hai with a total investment of 80 billion VND.
The project is expected to upgrade facilities at the site to better serve visitors.

The project includes items such as restoration and renovation of the flagpole, Hien Luong bridge, complex house, office building of the relic management board and toilets on the north bank, reception house and toilet area on the south bank along with other auxiliary items and temporary works.
For Hien Luong Bridge, the project will replace a part of the rusted and damaged iron and steel frame, replace the bridge surface wood with 50 mm thick ironwood, repair and reinforce the bridge abutments with carbon fiber panels... In addition, the project will also invest in specialized equipment to serve the cinema room, commentary and management work.
