On August 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province said that relevant authorities of the province have agreed to temporarily stop receiving visitors at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national relic site to serve the construction of the Thong Nhat Park project.

Accordingly, from August 23 to December 31, 2025, the reception, explanation and guidance of visitors at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national monument will not meet the service requirements of visitors. To ensure the safety of visitors and ensure the project is completed on schedule, the Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national monument will temporarily stop receiving visitors from August 23 until further notice.

It is known that the Thong Nhat Park project at the special national relic site on both banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai has a total investment of 80 billion VND. The project will construct items such as repairing and renovating the flagpole, Hien Luong bridge, complex house, office building of the relic management board and toilets on the north bank, reception house, toilet area on the south bank along with other auxiliary items and temporary works.

For Hien Luong Bridge, the project will replace a part of the rusted and damaged iron and steel frame, replace the bridge surface wood with 50 mm thick ironwood, repair and reinforce the bridge abutments with carbon fiber panels..., at the same time, invest in specialized equipment to serve the cinema room, commentary and management work. The project is of great significance in preserving and promoting the historical and cultural values of the relic, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions as well as exploiting the tourism potential of the locality.
