Early policy to replicate high-tech orchid growing model in Ha Tinh

(Baohatinh.vn) - On the sandy land with harsh coastal climate of Ha Tinh, Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited has successfully grown a large-scale Phalaenopsis orchid model thanks to investment and application of modern technology.

Ha Tinh Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited has just organized a scientific workshop on the project "Building a high-tech agricultural model for producing Phalaenopsis orchids in Ha Tinh province".

At the end of 2022, on an area of ^{​​3,000m2} , in Thach Khe commune ( Ha Tinh city), Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited planted 60,000 Phalaenopsis orchids. With a thorough investment in greenhouses, a sensor system to adjust light, temperature, and humidity completely automatically has helped the plants grow and develop well. The implementation process shows that the flowering rate reaches 100% .

After more than 3 years of implementing the Project "Building a high-tech agricultural model for producing Phalaenopsis orchids in Ha Tinh province", the set goals have been achieved, such as supporting the transfer of technology processes from incubation, planting to caring for commercial Phalaenopsis orchids.

Orchids grow well in greenhouses in harsh climates.

Tri Duc Ha Tinh Company Limited grows many different types of Phalaenopsis orchids, meeting the tastes of customers, especially during holidays and Tet. The company's products not only attract customers in the province but also reach out to the markets of Nghe An , Quang Binh and the Northern provinces. With a selling price of 150,000 - 220,000 VND/root, the revenue is billions of VND/year.

The project “Building a high-tech agricultural model for producing Phalaenopsis orchids in Ha Tinh province” is a model under the Government’s Program to support the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances to promote socio-economic development in rural, mountainous and ethnic minority areas in the period 2016-2025. In addition to infrastructure investment, the implementation of the model has received support and companionship from the Department of Science and Technology of Ha Tinh.

According to the assessment of specialized departments and agencies, this is a large investment model and the application of scientific and technological advances to overcome harsh weather and climate conditions has brought success. From the Phalaenopsis orchid garden in Thach Khe commune, many prospects for high-tech agricultural development in Ha Tinh have been opened up.
