Attending the activity organized by World Vision International in residential area No. 1, Hoa Khanh Nam ward, Nguyen Vo Bach Khoa said that this summer was very special because he got to participate in many folk games such as sack jumping, pouring water into bottles, tug of war, rowing on land... In addition, the organizers also provided basic knowledge on preventing drowning accidents and how to handle people who were drowning. Unable to hide his joy, Khoa added that he felt like he "grew up a little" after each activity. From a rather shy boy, Khoa gradually stepped out of his comfort zone to participate in most of the games with his friends.

This summer, World Vision International presented nearly 8,200 gifts to children in Hoa Minh, Hoa Hiep Nam, and Hoa Khanh Nam wards. Of these, nearly 1,200 children under the child sponsorship project were supported with additional special gifts such as bicycles, tablets, school desks and chairs, etc. Mr. Doseba Tua Sinay, Chief Representative of World Vision International in Vietnam, said that the activity is part of the Regional Program implemented by World Vision International in Lien Chieu district from January 2025 to September 2027, with a total estimated budget of 1,540,000 USD. The Regional Program includes projects to protect children and promote child participation; livelihood projects; projects to mobilize community participation and child sponsorship. According to Mr. Doseba Tua Sinay, the project aims to contribute to capacity building, promote participation and comprehensive community integration for disadvantaged children in general and autistic children and children with disabilities in particular.

PVH (Hoa Khanh Nam ward) shared that she never thought she would receive such a big gift. The dilapidated level 4 house has now been renovated thanks to the support of 30 million VND from the "Red Scarf House 2025" program implemented by the Lien Chieu District Youth Union. "I am very happy. Before, every time it rained, my father had to use basins and buckets to catch water because the house leaked. Now I don't have to worry about my books getting wet anymore," H. happily said. H.'s father is a manual laborer with an unstable income, so the family's life is difficult. Therefore, this support is not only of material value but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping the whole family have more confidence and determination to rise up.

In Lien Chieu district, since June 1, activities for children have been continuously implemented by the government and associations and organizations to create the best conditions for children to develop. In particular, within the framework of the Action Month for Children 2025 with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children", the programs "Children's Festival", "Journey of Love", life skills classes, classes on preventing accidents, drowning, and abuse are organized in all residential areas. At the same time, associations at all levels also mobilize businesses and philanthropists to participate in supporting scholarships, school supplies, bicycles, health insurance, etc. for children in especially difficult circumstances.

During the Month of Action for Children, the model of “Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address” continues to be widely spread. Mr. Nguyen Huu Ha, Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Lien Chieu District, said that the model pays special attention to women, children, and people with disabilities, through monthly subsidies, free medical examination and treatment, livelihood support, or scholarships and school supplies. Mr. Ha emphasized that each organization and each individual associated with a humanitarian address does not stop at short-term assistance but aims at sustainable solutions, so that each child has the opportunity to be cared for and have their lives changed through their own efforts and those of their families.

From meaningful gifts to skills training and mental care activities, the 2025 Action Month for Children in Lien Chieu District has become a bright spot in the work of protecting and caring for children, especially children in difficult circumstances. The valuable thing is the sense of responsibility and the cooperation of the entire political system, social organizations and individuals, which have contributed to realizing the goal of "leaving no child behind".
