Recently, many models and programs for donating, giving and sharing books have contributed to spreading the reading culture, arousing the love of books, bringing books closer to those who have little access to books such as children in villages, remote libraries, and remote schools across the country. Open reading spaces and bookshelves built without location restrictions demonstrate the practical effectiveness of the community's joint contribution to the journey of spreading sustainable knowledge.

Contribute books - sow dreams

On the occasion of the upcoming school year 2025-2026, Sbooks and Bookas audiobooks have just launched the Book for Children Program to donate read books to students in remote areas with the message "Join hands to write the dream of knowledge - Each book given is a seed of love".

Accordingly, individuals, organizations and units that are willing to donate books, children's stories, school supplies, etc. will be received by Bookas and delivered to libraries and schools in remote, mountainous and flood-affected areas.

“Bookas will return the books for free as a sincere thank you for the kindness of those who donate books to children in the spirit: we give knowledge and knowledge will return to us” - General Director of Sbooks Nguyen Anh Dung said.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, he has participated in trips to rural and remote areas in many places across the country and understands the lack of books, additional reading books, writing exercises, etc. for children.

Mr. Dung said: “With the mission of fostering knowledge and spreading the spirit of love of learning and reading widely in the community, especially in places where there is a need for books during the back-to-school season, we will maintain the charity program Books for Children to all parts of the country every year. Thereby, building the spirit of sharing knowledge, connecting book lovers with each other, and showing gratitude for the kindness of readers near and far for mutual development.”

Singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh - media ambassador of the Program Books for Children, shared: She experienced a childhood without books, having to rent or borrow books to read, while books were an important means to help her develop herself, improve her language skills and knowledge to compose songs and exchange art.

“I believe that when we give away books, we are giving away seeds of love, contributing to the germination of knowledge, watering the souls of children who love and need books. This meaningful action needs to be multiplied and maintained persistently so that the sharing of knowledge takes place throughout the journey of children growing up” - singer Duyen Quynh confided.

Building libraries and community bookcases

In addition, Alpha Books and many book brands: Omega Plus, Gamma, Einstein Books, Me-dinsights, Song have launched and implemented the Social Project initiative to support the construction of 100 bookcases across the country in the past month (ending on August 15); with the meaning of building bookcases at low cost, connecting the community with the habit of reading through reading cultural spaces in many places such as: schools, hospitals, offices, businesses, coffee shops...

Alpha Books CEO Ta Lien Huong said: The unit supports preferential policies for community bookcases to have new sources of books with the quantity of 100-400 books/bookcase, carefully selected, suitable for different groups of readers (students, university students, businessmen, young entrepreneurs, workers...) to contribute to inspiring reading habits and lifelong learning spirit in society. Alpha Books not only supports bookcases, but also advises on how to organize reading spaces, operate libraries and organize effective reading activities.

On August 9, Dream Library (Creative Arts Library Project for Vietnamese Children initiated by speaker Nguyen Phi Van in 2014) successfully organized the For Dreams pickleball tournament in Ho Chi Minh City, raising more than 45 million VND to build libraries for students in areas with limited access to books. In July 2025, Dream Library launched a fundraising campaign on the Momo app to donate 2,500 books to children in remote areas.

The Reading with Xich Lo project has just donated 13 bookshelves/cases to students of Binh Hoa Trung border school (Tay Ninh province), Tien Giang University library, 4 border communes of Nghe An province, Thanh An island (Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City) with about 1,500 books, worth nearly 80 million VND from organizations, individuals, and sponsors. The project will continue the journey of joining hands to "Bring books to the countryside", supplementing specialized books for the rice industry, books for agricultural businesses...
