
On August 12, according to information from the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province, the unit has sent a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue to arrange funds to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and ensure traffic on damaged roads.
According to the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province, recent storms have caused damage on many national highways and provincial roads managed by the department.
Specifically, as of August 5, on National Highways 24, 40B, 14C and 40, many locations had landslides, with rocks and soil spilling onto the road surface with a volume of about 7,206m3 , some locations had landslides on the negative slope and drainage ditches were damaged.
In particular, the section from Km168+900 to Km168+940 on National Highway 40B (through Tu Mo Rong commune, Quang Ngai province) has subsidence of the roadbed and surface, causing traffic congestion; Bo E bridge (on National Highway 24) has signs of cracking beams.

Provincial roads also suffered heavy damage with about 25,600m3 of positive slope landslides, many negative slope landslides, and damaged drainage ditches.
The total cost of repairing damage to both national and provincial highways is about 9.82 billion VND.
The Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province said that immediately after the natural disaster, the unit directed road management and maintenance units to proactively advance funds, mobilize machinery and equipment, and be present at the scene day and night to clear landslides and cut down fallen trees to clear traffic and ensure traffic safety.
At the same time, the department coordinated with local authorities to organize warnings and guidance at traffic jams and areas at risk of landslides.
