Quang Ngai province currently has 86 communes. In the period 2026-2035, the province aims to develop new rural areas in a modern, comprehensive and sustainable manner. Specifically, by 2030, it strives to have 56 communes meeting new rural standards and 20 communes meeting advanced standards. The average income in rural areas is 77.4 million VND/person/year.
By 2035, 70 communes will meet new rural standards, 42 communes will meet advanced standards, and 10 communes will meet modern new rural standards. The province requires communes to quickly complete the Steering Committee, strengthen the leadership of Party committees and authorities, and orient the development of a roadmap to meet new rural and advanced new rural standards according to the new set of criteria.
Adjusting the commune-level rural development planning must be consistent with the provincial planning and related sectoral planning. Accelerating the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards modernity and efficiency. Prioritizing support for production models for poor and near-poor households, women and ethnic minorities.
OCOP product development needs to be associated with quality criteria, regional characteristics, environmental friendliness, combined with technology application, digital transformation, and innovation to improve the capacity of OCOP entities, especially cooperatives and the private economy .
Promote the development of community tourism, eco-tourism and experiential agriculture, creating sustainable added value for rural areas in the future.
