Perspective of exhibition space of Hue city

On the afternoon of August 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Information of Hue City will attend an exhibition with the theme "Hue - Heritage, identity and vision of green development".

This is an opportunity for Hue City to affirm its position as “Hue - ancient capital, new opportunities”, promote its image and convey the message of sustainable development on the basis of preserving cultural heritage to the public and visitors.

Accordingly, the exhibition space of Hue City with an area of over 600m2, is designed in an open direction, the topics of socio-economic achievements are arranged flexibly and modernly but still imbued with the artistry and characteristics of Hue culture.

Specifically, the exhibition includes areas: photo exhibition on socio-economic achievements; space “Hue – heritage city”; “Hue – Ao Dai capital”, experience traditional handicrafts and OCOP products, and area displaying smart urban models, green development. All create a harmonious whole, clearly reflecting the development journey of Hue from the golden past to the future of integration and innovation.

The first highlight is the photo exhibition “Hue – from ancient to modern urban areas”, recreating the history of the formation of the capital over 700 years. Here, images of architectural works such as the Citadel, the Imperial City, the Forbidden City, the tombs of the Nguyen kings or traditional festivals, royal music, Hue garden houses… appear vividly, symbolizing the cultural values of Hue through historical periods.

The space “Hue - Heritage City” depicts the journey of Hue City in the work of preserving and promoting tangible and intangible cultural heritages with 8 cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO in 3 categories: tangible heritage, intangible heritage and documentary heritage. The exhibition will introduce valuable documents, artifacts and creative models so that viewers can interact and experience heritage values in a visual and vivid way.

In addition, the “Hue – Capital of Vietnamese Ao Dai” area is a highlight, for visitors to admire the collection of traditional Ao Dai through the ages, especially the ancient and modern Ao Dai with five panels, along with performances, experiences wearing Ao Dai and taking souvenir photos. The exquisite Ao Dai designs, with the typical colors and patterns of Hue, will contribute to affirming the brand “Hue – Capital of Vietnamese Ao Dai” as it once was.

The area for experiencing Hue traditional crafts and OCOP products promises to create attraction. Here, Hue artisans will directly demonstrate the stages of making Thanh Tien paper flowers, making conical hats, traditional embroidery, etc. Visitors can also experience the practice, thereby further understanding the elaborateness, meticulousness and creativity of the artisans in each product introduced to the public and visitors. At the same time, many typical OCOP products such as Hue lotus tea, five-color cakes, powder buds, Bao La bamboo and rattan, etc. will be introduced to connect with tourists.

According to the Department of Culture and Sports, with the message “Hue - Heritage, identity and green development vision”, Hue City hopes to make a strong impression at the National Exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day.

It is known that the exhibition is a national and international event directed by the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is the standing unit. It focuses on introducing and displaying the outstanding achievements of the Country in 80 years of construction and development in various fields, especially key areas such as: industry - technology; investment - trade; agriculture - rural areas; security - defense; foreign affairs; health, education; culture, sports and tourism. At the same time, it introduces Vietnamese culture - Country - People with a 4,000-year cultural tradition; the rich cultural diversity of 54 ethnic groups; the abundance of resources, products of the three regions and outstanding architectural works past and present across the country.
