In recent days, social networks have been spreading images of stainless steel trays of food, each serving includes white rice, fresh green stir-fried vegetables, meat, eggs and a bowl of soup. The neat and attractive meal is no different from a family meal.

Through investigation, the images circulating on social networks are of boarding meals for students of Thai Son Primary School (Van Hien Commune, Nghe An Province), with a price of only 17,000 VND/meal.

On the afternoon of September 17, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Hoang Thi Thao, Principal of Thai Son Primary School, said that the school has maintained a boarding school for students for many years.

“The school has been providing meals like this regularly for the past two years, with four different menus each week to avoid duplication.

We just hope that the students have nutritious meals, but we didn’t expect such widespread attention. Actually, being a boarding school is a responsibility, we just hope that the children eat well and finish their meals so that their parents can rest assured,” Ms. Thao shared.

According to Ms. Thao, in the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 708 students, of which more than 630 students are registered for boarding. The organization of boarding is strictly managed from the stage of receiving food, processing to the kitchen, all with surveillance cameras, and image data is stored. Parents can directly check when needed.

It is known that each meal costs 17,000 VND (not including cooking and service costs). To have quality meals, the school builds a weekly menu, selects fresh food, prepares it in a centralized kitchen, and is supervised by teachers and parents. The goal is to help students feel full and have enough nutrition to study.

After the photo of the meal at Thai Son Primary School was posted on social media, most parents and users expressed satisfaction.
