On the afternoon of August 22, speaking with VietNamNet reporters , the leaders of Khanh Hoa University said they had just decided to discipline a female student (22 years old) majoring in Mathematics Education by forcing her to leave school.
In addition, this female student must be responsible for returning the borrowed property from the school and must reimburse the training costs of the 2021-2025 school year of 20 million VND.
The school made this move after discovering that the female student had used a fake TOEIC certificate to apply for graduation last May.

The school said that recently, Khanh Hoa University announced the graduation requirements for the 2021-2025 course, and required students to submit relevant certificates, including meeting foreign language output standards equivalent to level B2.
The school then carried out a rigorous verification process for the certificates, including contacting the education company or certification center. At this time, the school discovered that the female student had used a fake foreign language certificate when submitting it for graduation, so it took disciplinary action to expel her from school.
“We have invited the family to express our regret, but we must follow the regulations,” said the leader of Nha Trang University, adding that the school hopes all students will learn from this incident and strictly comply with regulations on studying and foreign language certificates.
