In the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, thanks to favorable weather, water sources in reservoirs in Bac Ai district are guaranteed to serve production. The Bac Ai District People's Committee has directed relevant departments and commune People's Committees to arrange suitable crop structures, regulate water reasonably and economically.

These days, being present at the rice, cassava, sugarcane, and vegetable fields in Phuoc Trung, Phuoc Chinh, Phuoc Dai, Phuoc Tien communes,... we recorded the bustling working atmosphere of the people with plowing, sowing, and caring for the crops... Mrs. Chamaléa Nep's family in Tham Du hamlet (Phuoc Trung commune) produces 4 sao of hybrid corn. Since sowing until now, thanks to the cool weather, the corn has grown and developed well. Mrs. Nep said: At present, no harmful pests have been detected. My family as well as the villagers are actively going to the fields to take care of and weed the crops. Hopefully, in the coming time, it will continue to rain so that the crops can grow well and achieve high yields.

Mrs. Chamaléa Nép's family in Tham Du village, Phuoc Trung commune takes care of hybrid corn plants in the winter-spring crop of 2023-2024.

In the rice fields in Phuoc Dai commune, the working atmosphere of the people is also very bustling. Mr. Chamaléa Buu in Ta Lu 1 village, shared: After finishing harvesting the winter-spring rice crop, my family and the people in the commune took the opportunity to rent a plow to plant winter-spring rice in time. This season, my family planted 7 sao of TH6 rice variety, hoping that this year's weather will continue to be favorable for the rice to achieve high yield and price, helping the people have a stable source of income.

In the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, Bac Ai district will plant 1,800 hectares of various crops; of which, rice is 760 hectares and other crops are 1,040 hectares. For hilly areas without a proactive source of irrigation water, the district directs localities to encourage farmers to switch to growing drought-resistant crops such as corn, cassava, beans, sesame, etc.; of which, local corn, hybrid corn and cassava are two crops with high drought resistance, with a cultivation area of over 520 hectares.

To produce the winter-spring crop effectively, the district directed the communes to strengthen information and propaganda work, mobilize farmers to plant seeds on time and structure varieties according to the direction of the agricultural sector; at the same time, carry out the conversion of crop structure to meet the assigned targets; assign the Plant Cultivation and Plant Protection Station to guide people to promote intensive investment, apply science and technology in production, widely use new, short-term varieties, with good resistance to pests and diseases, high yield and quality to increase economic efficiency...
