Harvesters operate at full capacity in the concentrated fields of Xuan Thuy village (Can Loc commune).

In the concentrated fields of Xuan Thuy village (Can Loc commune), 4 combine harvesters "run" day and night to help farmers quickly harvest the summer-autumn rice area. On the shore, people are busy transporting rice to gathering points to sell to traders, making the harvest work atmosphere even more urgent.

Ms. Phan Thi Nhan (Xuan Thuy village) shared: “This summer-autumn crop, I planted nearly 4 hectares of rice, mainly Nep 98 variety. Luckily, the area in this area was not much affected by storm No. 5, so the fresh rice yield still reached about 2 quintals/sao, which made us very excited. I sold all of this rice to the purchasing facility in the commune to reduce the drying work. At the current pace, my family will finish harvesting the entire area in about 3 days.”

There was no other way, I harvested by hand, when there was sunshine, I dried it to make feed for livestock and poultry, which also reduced some of the damage."

Harvesters work overtime, even at night, to harvest summer-autumn rice on time.

According to Mr. Tran Ba Hoanh - Vice Chairman of Toan Luu Commune People's Committee, the locality has harvested more than 700 hectares, reaching over 70% of the area. Due to the impact of natural disasters, this year's productivity has decreased significantly, expected to reach about 27-28 quintals/ha. Currently, the commune is mobilizing 45 harvesters, distributing them to villages to support people to speed up the progress, minimizing damage caused by adverse weather.

In Gia Hanh commune, more than 1,600 hectares of rice of farmers are also starting to enter the harvest season, the sound of combine harvesters running loudly all day and night. Mr. Nguyen Van Dai - Deputy Head of the Economic Department (Gia Hanh Commune People's Committee) informed: "The locality has also proactively planned, if necessary, it will contact and mobilize more combine harvesters from neighboring areas to support with a total of 30 - 40 machines; at the same time, guide people to harvest quickly and sell fresh rice at the field. The commune strives to basically complete the area before September 16".

In order to ensure rice harvesting for farmers, 69 communes and wards have reviewed all the combine harvesters in the area, from which there are reasonable coordination plans between localities.

Directly participating in supporting people in the fields, despite many difficulties, the harvester owners are continuously working overtime, working day and night to keep up with the progress. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - harvester owner in Gia Hanh commune shared: "This year, operating the machine is more difficult because many rice fields have fallen, the ground is "full of water", unstable and prone to subsidence. The machine has to run slowly, consumes a lot of fuel and is prone to damage. However, we still try our best, have many lunches right at the foot of the field, taking advantage of every moment to help people complete the harvest before the rainy season".

In order to ensure rice harvesting activities for farmers, 69 communes and wards have reviewed all the combine harvesters in the area, from which there are reasonable coordination plans between localities to speed up progress in the shortest time. At the same time, localities also closely coordinate with the police force to stay close to the grassroots, promptly prevent the situation of protecting harvesters, forcing down prices or increasing service prices, thereby protecting the legitimate rights of the people.

Traders support rice purchasing for farmers in localities with large cultivated areas such as: Xuan Loc commune, Thien Cam commune, Can Loc commune, Cam Binh commune,...

To share and support people, many localities have called on local rice purchasing facilities to increase purchases of fresh rice for farmers, contributing to reducing damage and drying pressure in the context of many unusual weather developments.

Ms. Phan Thi Tuan - a trader in Can Loc commune said: "This year, farmers are facing difficulties, so the facility also creates conditions for purchasing for them even though the market is still very volatile. Every day, our facility purchases over 20 tons of rice of all kinds, mainly Nep 98, Khang Dan 18, Xuan Mai... to transfer to the northern market. The price of sticky rice is at 6 thousand VND/kg; Khang Dan 18, Xuan Mai is at 4.5 thousand VND/kg for grade 1 rice."

According to information from the provincial Department of Crop Production and Livestock, in the 2025 summer-autumn crop, Ha Tinh will produce more than 45,000 hectares of rice, mainly the group of varieties with a short growing period of 100-110 days, ensuring avoidance of natural disasters at the end of the crop, including: Khang Dan 18, Khang Dan Mut Mut, Bac Thinh, Nep 98, Nep 87, Thien Uu 8, BQ, HT1, PC6, TH3-3, TH3-5, Xuan Mai... Authorities recommend that localities focus on directing and speeding up the harvest progress.

Mr. Phan Van Huan - Head of the Cultivation Department (Ha Tinh Department of Cultivation and Livestock) said: “Taking advantage of favorable weather, localities need to focus on directing the acceleration of the harvest progress, combined with the arrangement and regulation of harvesters appropriately. At the same time, it is necessary to unify service prices, clearly divide the harvest areas and widely inform people so that they can grasp them promptly, strive to complete early, and minimize risks caused by natural disasters. Localities need to proactively connect with businesses, organizations and individuals to promote rice consumption for people”.
