Many new points in the Law on economical and efficient use of energy

The forum “Using energy economically and efficiently: Achievements and goals in the era of development” organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Hanoi, aimed at disseminating new points of the Law on Using Energy economically and efficiently (amended) - just passed by the National Assembly on June 18, 2025.

In the context of Vietnam entering the green growth phase and making strong commitments at COP26, the use of energy saving and efficiency has become an urgent task. On June 26, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized the Forum “Using Energy Saving and Efficiency: Achievements and Goals in the Era of Growth” in Hanoi. The event aimed to disseminate the Law on Using Energy Saving and Efficiency (amended) recently passed by the National Assembly with many breakthroughs in policies and legal techniques, aiming to ensure sustainable energy security and socio-economic development.

The new law has been comprehensively revised with 19 articles amended and 1 new article added. The new law has many breakthroughs, focusing on 4 policy groups such as: establishing a Fund to promote energy saving towards socialization; developing an energy service system (ESCO); labeling energy-saving construction materials; and green financial incentives....

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will also soon issue guiding documents, increase propaganda, encourage businesses to invest in energy-saving technology and improve the quality of human resources for the energy consulting and auditing market.
