Developing high-tech application models

In the past time, Do Luong district has built plans and projects to orient the development of crops and livestock suitable to the conditions and characteristics of each region to exploit all the potentials of agricultural land; selected key products to focus on planning concentrated specialized production areas and up to now, has built a specialized vegetable growing area of ​​more than 500 hectares and supplied products to supermarkets nationwide.

The determination to create a breakthrough in the development of the agricultural sector of Do Luong district is to focus on restructuring the agricultural sector towards concentrated and specialized commodity production, developing high-tech agriculture to increase value per unit area, building brands for agricultural products, striving for 100% of communes to have 1 product participating in the OCOP chain and building 3-5 key branded products to participate in the domestic market, gradually exporting abroad.

One of the outstanding models in Do Luong district in applying high technology in an organic direction is Doi Choi farm (in Thinh Son commune with an area of ​​30 hectares and Van Son commune with an area of ​​10 hectares, total cultivated area is 40 hectares).

Mr. Nguyen Cong Hai - investor of Doi Choi farm said: “In February 2022, Doi Choi farm in hamlet 12, Thinh Son commune started leveling the ground and planning, building greenhouses. During the implementation process, with the support of local authorities and people, after a period of urgent construction, greenhouse subdivisions such as: Seedless lemon garden; grape garden; melon garden; strawberry and tomato garden have been completed...

Here, we have invested in applying a greenhouse system with irrigation technology to monitor humidity and temperature using modern Israeli technology, thereby minimizing pests and insects from entering the agricultural production stages very strictly, aiming to improve product quality. Organic products such as melons, black grapes, peony grapes, baby cucumbers, cucumbers, strawberries, bee tomatoes, vegetables, fruits... are well received by the market thanks to their good quality and beautiful appearance.

After the success of the Doi Choi farm model in Thinh Son commune, the unit continued to invest in the second Doi Choi farm in Van Son commune and invested in the direction of clean agriculture, organic production with products such as peony grapes, melons, baby cucumbers and other vegetable and fruit products.

Currently, at the farm, Huynh Long and Kim Ngoc Duong melons are the two main melon varieties, grown in greenhouses and yielding about 10 tons per month. It is expected that during the peak season from June to September, the yield can reach up to 12 tons/month. Along with that, the baby cucumber product has a yield of 1.5 tons/1,000m² and herbal eggs reach 2,000 eggs/day... In addition, the farm will boost the production of vegetables such as mustard greens, sweet cabbage, cherry tomatoes, kohlrabi, cabbage, etc. to provide green vegetables to the market in the last months of the year.

In order to develop agriculture in the direction of modernity, clean agriculture, and high-tech agriculture, in the coming time, Do Luong district will continue to focus on exploiting the potential of agricultural land, supporting the construction of products manufactured in accordance with standards and regulations of clean agricultural models. At the same time, it is necessary to connect businesses, investors with farmers for large-scale agricultural production, creating momentum for building a chain of agricultural product brands in the district.

Mr. Thanh Dang Long - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Do Luong district said: "The district continues to review and adjust the planning project for developing high-tech agricultural areas associated with restructuring the agricultural sector. Implementing the transformation of crop and livestock structures towards improving the efficiency of agricultural production.

Building sustainable linkage models between cooperatives, cooperative groups and enterprises in the agricultural sector participating in the value chain of goods from production to product consumption. Implementing agricultural production models according to VietGAP standards, high-tech agricultural models, organic orientation... building agricultural product brands, selecting products to participate in the OCOP product value chain. Strengthening connections with enterprises to form joint ventures to consume products, in the immediate future continuing to maintain and expand product categories to bring them into the Vinmart supermarket system and other markets".

Application of high technology in fields with conditions

The application of high technology in agricultural production has always been a field of interest to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, with priority given to investment support. In addition, the implementation process is always linked to the product consumption stage with the National Target Program on New Rural Development... Therefore, localities have focused on strongly developing the application of high technology in agriculture and in the production and business process, new forms of production linkage organization have emerged, creating high production and business efficiency, notably the model of agricultural cooperatives applying high technology.

Currently, in Nghe An , there are 97 cooperatives applying high technology (accounting for 3.85% of high-tech cooperatives nationwide) and 129 cooperatives with products achieving OCOP star status with a total of 222 products (accounting for about 5.95% of cooperatives that are OCOP subjects nationwide); there are 278 cooperatives linking production with the consumption of agricultural products, accounting for 38.5% (20% higher than the national average).

With the timely attention and support of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, relevant levels and sectors in developing high-tech agriculture associated with production linkage, up to now, in 11 districts and towns, plans have been developed and 40 projects linking production and product consumption have been approved for support according to Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP and Resolution No. 13/2018/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council (including 27 projects/plans approved by the Provincial People's Committee and 13 projects approved by the District People's Committee, in the first quarter of 2025, there will be 3 new projects approved for support). Thereby, 16,121 households have participated with a total linkage implementation scale of 4,396 hectares and 40 cooperatives, 21 enterprises participating in the linkage (including 12 enterprises in the province and 9 enterprises outside the province).

To develop high-tech agriculture in the fields of the Agriculture and Environment sector, in the coming time, the Department will continue to promote the application of scientific and technological advances, especially high technology in production to increase productivity, quality, and value of agricultural products and focus on investing in developing high-tech agriculture in fields with conditions: Dairy farming, freshwater fish farming, vegetable and flower production, production of quality rice, corn, peanuts, sugarcane, tea; wood processing and non-timber forest products...

Along with that, accelerate scientific and technological progress, high technology in production, create breakthroughs in agricultural, forestry and fishery production, increase value per unit area, and increase farmers' income. In particular, encourage enterprises to participate in research and transfer of science and technology, especially enterprises with the capacity to access high technology...
