Statistics from the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) show that last May, there were 53 successful private corporate bond issuances with a total value of VND55,314.6 billion. Of these, banks issued the largest bonds.
In the first 5 months of the year, there were 80 separate corporate bond issuances, thereby mobilizing 97,751.8 billion VND.
Banks continue to lead in bond issuance volume

Many banks have issued bonds to raise capital. For example, VPBank issued 5 bonds with a total value of 10,000 billion VND. Next, BIDV issued more than 6,000 billion VND, ABBank 4,200 billion VND and Techcombank 2,000 billion VND...
In the real estate group, there were additional large issuances from Vingroup with 3 issuances, totaling VND6,000 billion. In addition, the market also witnessed a large issuance worth VND3,466 billion from Viet Minh Hoang Real Estate Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
The report from FiinRatings also said that in May, the average bond issuance interest rate fluctuated around 5.5%/year for the credit institution group. Meanwhile, the non-bank group recorded a higher average interest rate, around 11.2%/year. The average terms of the two groups were 4.1 years and 3.2 years, respectively. Although the credit institution group still accounted for the majority of the market, the non-bank group issued more in May (accounting for 31.4% of the total issuance value), mainly from the manufacturing and real estate enterprises.
FiinRatings assessed that corporate bond issuance in the non-bank group is recovering slowly due to the low-interest credit environment attracting businesses to prioritize borrowing channels. Outstanding real estate credit (mainly businesses) has currently increased by 20% compared to the end of 2024. In addition, concerns about the debt ratio requirement in the new draft have also prevented many businesses from returning to the market.
On the other hand, in May, corporate bond repurchase activities were bustling, reaching VND18,900 billion, up 53.3% compared to the previous month and 27.4% compared to the same period last year. The driving force for repurchases in the month mainly came from real estate enterprises (53.2%) and banks (45.6%)...
