Haeundae Sand Festival

This is an annual art event at Haeundae - the most beautiful and famous beach in Busan. 20 years ago, the Haeundae Sand Festival was first held in this coastal city and left many impressions, so that every year, Busan beach has become an early summer destination for Koreans and international tourists. This year, with the theme "Festival Meets Korean Culture", this event honors the intersection between traditional and modern culture. The official time of the festival is from May 16-19, but the public can still see the works exhibited right on the beach until June 8. Dozens of sophisticated sand sculptures made by artists from all over the world will definitely bring you different experiences in Busan. This festival is completely free for visitors, but some of the activities may cost money.

Busan One Asia Festival

Busan One Asia Festival (commonly known as BOF) is an annual cultural event that is highly anticipated by young people in Korea and internationally. Now in its 9th year, the festival combines many types of performing arts and diverse cultural experiences, most notably K-POP. Previously, BOF was held in October every year, but since 2024, the city government has decided to hold it in June, right in the beach tourism season. This year, BOF takes place from June 11-13, promising to explode with the gathering of famous music groups such as NCT WISH, ATEEZ, SUPER JUNIOR, WayV, Hearts2Hearts, LUCY, Dragon Pony... Besides the "Big Concerts", there are many attractive activities such as introducing young musical talents, talk shows about Korean culture with guests who are experts and famous artists. Fan experience areas will feature interactive activities, exhibitions and souvenir booths.

Busan Sea Festival

Busan is known as the “summer capital” of Korea and the Sea Festival here was first held in 1996 with the aim of promoting tourism at the city’s beaches. This year, the 29th Busan Sea Festival will take place mainly at Dadaepo Beach. In addition, other famous beaches such as Haeundae, Gwangalli, Songdo and Songjeong will also have many attractive activities. The program is scheduled to take place at the end of July with many attractive art performances, fireworks night, beach dance parties, K-POP performances, water sports competitions or beach volleyball.

Drone light show

If your time in Busan does not coincide with the festivals, you can note down the schedule of one of the equally interesting programs, the famous drone light show in the city. This program takes place twice, lasting about 10-12 minutes each time, every Saturday night at Gwangalli Beach, right next to Gwangan Bridge. From March to September, the program takes place from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. From October to February, the program takes place earlier, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is an eye-catching light show with modern technology equipment, leaving an unforgettable impression on any visitor to Busan.
