'Red Rain' sets new record

As of the evening of September 3, the film Red Rain by director Dang Thai Huyen has reached over 458 billion VND. This achievement helps the work surpass Tran Thanh's The Four Guardians (332 billion VND) and become the highest-grossing Vietnamese film in 2025 (to date).

Besides, Dang Thai Huyen also became the first Vietnamese female director to have a work that conquered the 400 billion VND revenue milestone.

The appeal of Red Rain has not diminished after more than 10 days in theaters. Previously, the film reached 55 billion VND on September 1, becoming the Vietnamese film with the highest daily revenue, surpassing Tran Thanh's Mai (43.9 billion VND).

Red Rain , inspired by the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri Citadel , is a work produced by the People's Army Cinema, belonging to the war-revolutionary film genre. The work has the participation of a cast including: Do Nhat Hoang, Le Ha Anh, Steven Nguyen, Phuong Nam, Le Hoang Long, Lam Thanh Nha... According to director Dang Thai Huyen, Red Rain is like a respectful incense stick, contributing a word of gratitude to the generation of fathers and brothers who fell for the independence and freedom of the country.

According to Box Office Vietnam, Red Rain has a fairly high occupancy rate of over 68.33%. This unit said that at theaters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, there was a phenomenon of "sold out tickets", showing the level of interest of the audience in the film.

Besides Red Rain , at the Vietnamese box office, Getting Rich with Ghosts: Diamond War is ranked 2nd, earning more than 48 billion VND after nearly a week of showing. Despite facing strong competitors, the project with the participation of Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh still had good results, with a revenue of more than 19 billion VND in the last 3 days of the weekend.
