On the afternoon of November 14, Dr. Huynh Nhu Dong, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Central Highlands General Hospital, said that the hospital had just successfully performed emergency surgery on a patient who had been shot in the head.

According to Dr. Huynh Nhu Dong, before that, at around 6:00 p.m. on November 13, the hospital received patient D.GB (12 years old, residing in Ea Kar town, Ea Kar district, Dak Lak ) with a head wound, the family said he was hit by a homemade gun. The patient was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury caused by firearms, bilateral temporal skull fractures, bilateral subdural hematomas, brain contusions, and cerebral hemorrhage. Doctors and nurses performed emergency surgery for more than 3 hours and removed a bullet measuring 4x4mm.

Child B. is being treated at the Central Highlands General Hospital.

According to B.'s mother, on the afternoon of November 13, B. came home from school and went to a friend's house to play, after which the incident happened. "I was at work when I heard a relative call saying that B. was shot in the head. I rushed home to take my child to the emergency room, so I still don't know the cause of this incident," said B.'s mother.

Doctor Huynh Nhu Dong also said that after surgery, the patient is now out of danger, conscious, able to feel pain and is being closely monitored. Currently, B. is being given high doses of antibiotics to help him recover quickly.
