Introduced by Microsoft about a year ago, Security for Copilot has been in testing with the company's enterprise customers. However, when the product officially goes live, Microsoft will charge for the functionality used, similar to Azure cloud services.

Because AI sometimes makes mistakes, which can have quite costly consequences in cybersecurity, Microsoft is paying special attention to this aspect. Security for Copilot will combine with OpenAI's AI capabilities to avoid potential risks.

Security for Copilot works with all Microsoft security software and security tools and provides a special dashboard that summarizes data and answers questions. It summarizes information about hacker actions and predicts what hackers will do.

Security for Copilot will allow experienced cybersecurity professionals to take on more complex tasks and new ones to quickly learn and develop their skills, said Andrew Conway, vice president of security marketing at Microsoft. In testing, the company found that Security for Copilot was 26 percent faster and 35 percent more accurate than new cybersecurity employees.

"Criminals are getting faster, which means we need to be faster, and this tool is exactly what we need," said Chip Calhoun, vice president of cybersecurity at oil giant BP Plc, who tested Security for Copilot. "Security for Copilot isn't perfect yet, but it will get there over time."
