According to Thurrott , with version 22H2, Windows 11 has been added by Microsoft with a new speech recognition service called Voice Access. It is a modern, efficient and flexible service based on AI and supports many languages. Fully integrated into the operating system, Voice Access can be accessed from the search bar or from the settings. It is even connected to the virtual keyboard that allows users to write text with their voice.

Speech recognition has become obsolete.

In addition to English support, Microsoft plans to expand support to other regions in future updates to Voice Access. But Windows 11 has inherited Speech recognition functionality from Windows Vista, so when Voice Access is rolled out globally by Microsoft, it is inevitable that the old feature will be discontinued.

This information was announced by Microsoft when they said that they would no longer support Speech recognition, which has existed since Windows Vista. The abandonment is scheduled for December 2023, which means users will still have access to it for a few more days. This handy feature allows users to instruct the operating system to recognize their voice to open applications or give commands. However, with the development of technology, it is now obsolete because there is no longer a need for training.

Microsoft recommends that users of this feature switch to Voice Access. This decision is part of Microsoft's modernization effort to encourage the development of new features that better suit the current needs of users. This transition is consistent with recent OS updates, and the company even recently dropped its Cortana assistant in favor of Copilot.
