What is the "soul and lifeblood of the Revolutionary Army"?

NDO - On the morning of November 5, in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper organized a seminar on the 80th anniversary of "The Soul and Lifeblood of the Revolutionary Army", in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 12, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).

Attending the seminar were Senior Lieutenant General Pham Thanh Ngan, former member of the Politburo , former Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Journalist Hong Vinh, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper; Comrade Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine.

According to Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, the seminar received more than 30 presentations from leaders, former leaders in the army, scientists , generals, and commanders of agencies and units throughout the army.

The papers are the result of elaborate, serious, intellectual research, with profound theoretical and practical value, clearly affirming the position, role, function and great contributions of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to the cause of building, fighting and winning of our army over the past 80 years.

At the Seminar, the delegates' presentations analyzed in depth and focused on affirming: With the role of a strategic advisory body, undertaking Party and political work in the entire army, the General Department of Politics promptly advised the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense to lead and direct the entire army to effectively implement resolutions and directives of the Party and Central Military Commission.

The General Department of Politics is always sensitive, creative, and timely in concretizing the policies, guidelines, resolutions, directives, and strategic determinations of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense to direct and guide Party and political work closely to the characteristics and nature of the tasks of the army and its forces and services, in accordance with the practical operations of the army, especially before major campaigns, at times of historical revolutionary turning points, and difficult and unexpected tasks.

Delegates commented that the General Department of Politics has directed, guided and worked hard to organize and implement comprehensively, synchronously and uniformly the activities of building political and spiritual factors for the entire army and spreading that spirit to the entire people.
