Lexus ES has a listed price reduction of up to 260 million in Vietnam

Thanks to the new list price, the Lexus ES will be able to improve its competitiveness with rivals in the same segment as the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The current version of the Lexus ES luxury sedan was launched in the Vietnamese market in 2021. The car has 3 versions, including ES 250, ES 250 F Sport and ES 300h with listed prices of 2.62 billion, 2.71 billion and 3.14 billion VND respectively.

However, recently, according to the announcement of the sales consultant at the dealership, the listed price of this luxury sedan line has been adjusted. Accordingly, the Lexus ES 250 is priced at only 2.36 billion VND, a reduction of 260 million VND compared to the old price.

Similarly, the Lexus ES 250 F Sport is also reduced by 260 million VND, down to 2.45 billion VND. The most premium Lexus ES 300h will still maintain its selling price of 3.14 billion VND.

According to a sales consultant at the dealership, the reason why the Lexus ES 250 and ES 250 F Sport have reduced their listed prices is due to new regulations related to car imports. More specifically, on March 31, the Government issued Decree No. 73/2025/ND-CP amending the MFN tax rate (preferential import tax for countries in the World Trade Organization WTO) for a number of items.

Of which, there are 3 car lines in Vietnam that have reduced taxes, including: Passenger cars with common luggage compartments and sports cars from 2,000-2,500cc; Sedan cars from 2,000-2,500cc; Other car lines of the four-wheel drive type. The MFN tax rate for these 3 car lines is reduced to only 32%-50% according to the new regulations. Meanwhile, the old MFN tax rate is from 45%-64%.

Thanks to the new list price, the Lexus ES will be able to improve its competitiveness with rivals in the same segment such as the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Currently, the BMW 5-Series has a list price ranging from 2.589 - 3.099 billion VND while the corresponding figure for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is from 2.099 - 2.950 billion VND.

The Lexus ES is a luxury sedan with a luxurious and elegant design. The car is equipped with the Lexus brand's signature spindle grille with "L" shaped bars, LED headlights with 3 projector lights and Blade Scan AHS adaptive technology and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood of the Lexus ES are two engine options. The first is a 2.5L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, for a maximum capacity of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 243 Nm.

The second is the hybrid powertrain, including a 2.5L gasoline engine, accompanied by an electric motor and a continuously variable automatic transmission, producing a total capacity of 214 horsepower and a maximum torque of 221 Nm.
