
On the afternoon of August 4, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with students who won Gold Medals at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Duy Lam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vo Trong Hai - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Duong Tat Thang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Van Ky - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, and staff, teachers and students of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted .

The 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad will be held in Australia from July 10 to 20, with the official exam dates being July 15 and 16. This year, contestants will come from nearly 100 countries and territories. The Vietnamese team consists of 6 excellent students from specialized high schools across the country.

Tran Minh Hoang (from Tien Dien commune, grade 12 student of Math 1, Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted) and Vo Trong Khai (from Dan Hai commune, grade 12 student of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An ) have excelled over many opponents to win the Gold Medal at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad, bringing glory to the school and Ha Tinh with scores of 35 and 38, respectively.

This is the second time Tran Minh Hoang has won an International Mathematical Olympiad medal, and the fourth consecutive year that the Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training has had students win international medals. Previously, in 2024, at the International Mathematical Olympiad - IMO held in the UK, Tran Minh Hoang, then a grade 11 student of Math 1 - Ha Tinh Specialized High School, also won a Silver Medal.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang, on behalf of the provincial leaders, congratulated and commended Tran Minh Hoang and Vo Trong Khai, their families, staff, teachers and students of the schools they are studying at. This result demonstrates the efforts of the students, teachers and schools; is the honor and pride of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Ha Tinh, further illuminating the tradition of studiousness of the homeland, arousing the motivation for each student of the province to excel in their studies.

Inheriting the tradition of studiousness of the homeland, with the attention of the province, in recent years, the education and training activities of Ha Tinh have achieved many outstanding results, becoming one of the localities in the top of the country in terms of quality. Hopefully, in the future, Tran Minh Hoang and Vo Trong Khai will continue to make efforts in studying to achieve even higher achievements.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang suggested that the Department of Education and Training, all levels and sectors should continue to pay attention to investing in building facilities, equipment, and policies to ensure the development of education and training of Ha Tinh Specialized High School and other educational institutions. Parents and people need to continue to accompany, support and share with the school to effectively implement the close connection between the school, family and society.

Speaking at the meeting, Tran Minh Hoang expressed his deep gratitude for the attention of the province, the Department of Education and Training, the school, teachers, friends and family members. The spiritual and material attention over the past time has helped him overcome difficulties to achieve proud results. He will continue to strive to achieve even higher achievements, contributing to glorifying the tradition of the school and his hometown Ha Tinh.
At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Lam, Provincial People's Committee Chairman Vo Trong Hai and provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate Tran Minh Hoang and Vo Trong Khai and the Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training for their achievements.
