Groundbreaking ceremony for Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road extension project

On the morning of September 6, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road extension project. The project is to celebrate the 1st Congress of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

The newly constructed section is nearly 6 km long, belonging to phase IIb (section Km 76+230 - Km 82) of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project. According to the design, the route has a design speed of 80 km/h.

The starting point of the route intersects with Road DH37 in Mo Cay Commune, ending at a field in Tra Cau Ward (Pho An Commune, old Duc Pho Town), invested by the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works of Quang Ngai Province.

The project has a construction budget of more than 98 billion VND, using the surplus funds through the previous savings the investor made in the process of compensation for site clearance, reforestation and some other costs when implementing the investment in the construction of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project, phase IIb.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Director of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board Tran Hoang Vinh said that the project is an effort of Quang Ngai Province in mobilizing resources to complete infrastructure, serving local socio -economic development.

The Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road project has a total investment of about 5,600 billion VND, with the starting point connecting to the coastal road of Da Nang city and the ending point connecting to the coastal road of Gia Lai province. This route will contribute to forming the coastal traffic axis of the whole country, 2,838 km long.

The project is divided into 2 investment phases. To date, phase I (Dung Quat - My Khe, My Khe - Tra Khuc sections) has been completed and put into use with a total length of more than 30km, with an implementation cost of nearly 1,500 billion VND. Phase II has a total length of nearly 70km (section south of Co Luy bridge to Sa Huynh), invested in the period 2018-2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam emphasized that the investment in the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road, phase IIb, aims to gradually complete the coastal road according to the approved planning, ensuring convenient traffic. After completion, it will contribute to promoting the effectiveness of the invested sections, creating momentum for regional socio-economic development and national defense and security.
