On July 20, information from Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, said that by 1:30 p.m. the same day, the unit had received 10 cases of food poisoning related to a crowded meal at My Xuyen residential group, Phong Dinh ward, Hue city, including one case being monitored at the Intensive Care Unit and the remaining cases being treated at the Tropical Diseases Department.
The current health status of all patients has improved; 9 of them are stable, except for patient NTL (84 years old) who is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit and is now conscious, with improved hemodynamic index. 5/10 cases have been assigned to take samples for testing to find the cause.
According to epidemiological investigation, all cases ate the same death anniversary party (cooked by X.D restaurant in the ward) at 11:00 a.m. on July 19, of which 5 patients ate the meal a second time (reheated) at 6:00 p.m. the same day.
About 50 guests attended the meal, which included jellyfish-shrimp salad, steamed squid, grilled chicken, grouper hotpot, and yogurt. Most of the sick people ate all the dishes.
About 15 hours after the meal, the first case appeared in the early morning of July 20, with symptoms of fever, abdominal cramps, and loose stools; some cases were hospitalized with vomiting.
The Hue City Department of Health said it is continuing to connect with Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, to update and monitor the situation of patients related to the food poisoning incident, in order to continue to have appropriate intervention solutions in accordance with regulations.
At the same time, direct the Food Safety Department, Center for Disease Control, Phong Dien Medical Center, Hue City to coordinate in investigating, verifying the situation and handling the related environment in the area where food poisoning occurred./.
