More than 625,000 university and college candidates have confirmed their enrollment.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that in 2025, the total number of candidates registering for admission will reach 852,000 with 7.6 million wishes for more than 4,000 majors and training programs of more than 500 universities and colleges nationwide. The entire process is done completely online, from registration, fee payment, virtual filtering and admission confirmation.

At the end of the general admission round, the number of candidates who completed admission confirmation was 625,477, of which, the university sector alone was 613,335 students, equivalent to 52.87% of the total number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam in 2025. The number of training institutions recruiting less than 30% of the target accounted for only 6.5% while in 2024 it was 16.4%.

However, besides the positive results, the 2025 enrollment work has also revealed some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome in order to ensure a more secure, fair and transparent 2026 enrollment season.

The number of admitted candidates confirmed to enroll increased by nearly 14% compared to 2024.

According to Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges, in 2026, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the application of information technology, digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) in admissions.

In particular, digital transformation and AI application need to be carefully prepared, early and have regulations for universities so that the system can operate smoothly. In addition, it is not necessary to convert equivalent scores between admission methods and combinations, the benchmark scores can be on different scales according to the criteria of each assessment method to recruit the best candidates according to different methods.
